Cox Gigablast

Does anyone have Gigablast? If so, do you know what speeds are you getting on a regular basis?
I currently have the 300/30 plan and routinely get 315-320 down through my wifi. If I ever drop below 150, I can reset my modem and am back over 300.
Cox is trying to push the Gigablast and is offering it for the same price as my current plan (it will go up to $120 after 1 year).
Fiber is not an option in my neighborhood. Although, AT&T just sent a rep out saying they were running lines in my area soon.

My current plan already has the 1TB limit, so that is not an issue either.

Will they offer your current plan at a lower rate?
300 down should be plenty for a normal user.

Most households won't notice a big difference between 300Mbps and 1Gbps.

I had 1gb fiber and punted after the raised the price and have 300/30 and it’s more than enough.

I would have went Cox if they didn’t have that data cap for gigabit. Seems ridiculous for the top tier. ATT doesn’t have one and I pay 80 for it.

This sounds dirty.

I pay 70$ for unlimited (no overage fees on 1tb limit cap) for 1gig with AT&T. Everytime I check cox to see if it's cheaper, they always want 100$ or more, so no thx.

I see 700-985 regularly. On 2.4 ghz I will see 200-400 but I don’t have my main devices on that band. My main devices are hardwired with Cat6 Ethernet cable. That’s the devices I see 900+ with. Just my experience so far after 6 months
I pay $90 a month.

Gigablast isn't true symmetrical gig, which is why I haven't upgraded. Dumb that upload speeds are still capped around 35mb on gigablast

Thanks. I probably won't switch from my 300/30 (may see if I can get a better price).
I want to switch to fiber, but right now AT&T's best package in my area is their Internet 25, 25D/5U, for $50/month

Honest question for all the posters with 300mbps and giga plans. What are y’all doing at home that requires so much internet?
Everything I’ve read says HD streaming requires about 5mbps per device. Even if you have a family of 5 all simultaneously pulling twice as much data as HD streaming, you’ll only need 50mbps. Seems like you’re paying for a whole more than you could ever really use. Am I missing something?

I have it because it was the best price with the bundle that I had. It was about $15-20 cheaper a month than there 150 plan when I signed up, the rep admitted there was a mistake but had to honor the price. I keep getting them to renew the discount, so I never looked back.
I asked about the gigablast plan because every time I log into my cox account, I have to close the window to do what I want. So, their annoying advertisement was effective enough to get me to ask the question
