Could the iPad line up be any messier? And its about to get worse...

Meh it’s 5 iPads and the 10.5 cases didn’t get relabeled when the regular iPad grew and the iPad Pro 10.5 was relaunched as the iPad Air 3. If it’s a pro with faceID it gets the second gen pencil if it isn’t then it the first gen pencil. It’s very likely the genius hadn’t sold any accessories for a few months.

I'd argue the problem really comes down to Apple marketing
Make the model names/numbers easier and you won't have this problem. But when your entire brand is centered on singular products and slight variations on them, it's a nightmare.

They have broken their one size fits all approach to make sure they have an iPad for every price point. IPhones are slowly going in that direction too.
