Anyone have a nice 2.1 setup on their home or work computers. I am looking for a nice set for my work desk. I need something low profile, affordable with good sound.

A couple of years ago Costco had this Klipsch setup on sale for like $65 and I bought two sets. I used on for my desktop and still have the other unboxed but was too good of a deal to pass up. The sound quality is very good but the physical footprint may be larger than you are looking for.

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

Define affordable. Less than $50? $100? $500?

Tons of great options at all levels depending on what works for your budget.

This times 10. I have the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 hooked up to a TV and they're excellent. Much better than a lot of soundbars. Your TV needs a headphone jack or and rca audio output using a rca to female headphone adapter to use on a TV.

Each of those is staggeringly relative. You need to give more info.

An actual budget goes a long way to getting good replies.

In the cheap but hardy area, the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 is a perennial best buy and the Heritage version is the sexier MCM version if you are willing to pay a little more. Subjective I think the Heritage version looks a lot better and it is a better speaker and has a larger 8" sub.

If you are willing to pay a little more the Jamo S801PM are on sale for $199 for the pair and are a much better speaker. Add a Monoprice sub like the SW-10* and you are in business for about $310. The sub will connect to the Jamo sub out with a simple RCA cable.

As the budget goes up the number of options increase.

* If you want a smaller sub Monoproce also sells their 8" select sub for about the same price.

Most of the ones I have looked at online, the speakers that sit on the desktop are too big. I would like something small. I like the Klipsh, but imo, the speakers are too big. But I might just need to sacrifice.

I would say $200 is my absolute ceiling, but I would rather $150 or below.

well getting a group to say, "I have these, and they sound great, and I didn't have to donate any organs for this great sound" is a good start....

I went with a Vizio sound bar with sub (V28-H8R). Fit my desk better and sound is great. Could even mount it to the wall, depending on your desk setup.

Logitech Z625 or Z623 are also good choices.
