Maybe I'm out of the loop on this, but I just noticed it a few minutes ago. Went to access my account today and saw this on the home page:

Googling to find more info about when this is happening (no luck, other than seeing other cities who already have it), I also came across this:

I'm more concerned with the doubling of internet speeds, since that's likely to happen in the more immediate future. Reading other info about it, seems that the new tiers will be as followed:

Cox Internet Preferred 50Mbps download / 5Mbps upload
Cox Internet Premier 100Mbps download / 10Mbps upload
Cox Internet Ultimate 150Mbps download / 20Mbps upload

No change to the Ultimate speeds, and no price change... yet.

Uh aren't those speeds the same as they are now? Pretty sure I have preferred and it's 50mbs down

I lied I do have Premier

Now what does that mean they're gonna do to the price? Knowing Cox there's no way there just gonna double the speeds out of the kindness of their heart

Did you click on it? In BR, it's an offer to go up one tier for $5/mo for 6 months with the same old tier speeds. But I know of what you speak. Supposedly they will be doubling the speeds in LA on Sep 23-24:

It'll happen on a delay. A little over a year ago was the last bump in speed, and I think the price went up by about $6 several months later, I guess after the upgrade gets rolled out to all of their customers.

My $59/mo price I got for threatening to cancel is almost expired. I don't think they'll call my bluff once I've got 100Mbps... "yeah I want to cancel so that I can switch to u-verse to pay $10 less for about a 6th of the speed..."

Awesome, thanks for the link. The last date listed there is Palos Verdes 10/28/2014, which would be just in time for a November price increase, which is right when Cox increased prices last year.

They sent me that email for my business service and wanted me to "lock in" a cheaper rate to essentially move up a tier.

We don't really need more than the 15 we already get so I didn't give it much thought.

I gladly pay the 73.99 for 50 down. Nothing else really compares. Even if they raises the price 10$ but doubled the speed I'd be stoked.

I'm glad I just locked in for 6 months this weekend. $71 for the 50Mbps + HD Economy and DVR... tough to be that anywhere.

In areas like Lafayette, they are getting their arse whipped by fiber taking a large market share. I would assume it's happening other places as well.

Yea will be interesting to see if it goes sky high.

I know verizon fios for those speeds have absurd prices

Compared to europe I got 100 down for 20 euro a month the first year then 40 euro after that while in Germany.

In the UK my ISP Virgin Media offers 100 meg fiber for 31 pounds a month and 152 meg for 39 pounds a month.

I'm really hoping we get it in this area soon. With all the new construction coming up, LUS is losing out on lots of $$$.

They are not back in your hood yet? You have LUS for electricity tho right? Thats there big ugly substation that being built on the corner...

I will have a youngsville address but in the city of broussard or some nonsense like that...so theres probably no hope for LUS.

Charter is doubling speeds before the end of the year from what I was told by a customer service rep.

Reading the comments it sounds like you are close to my home. If you haven't notice, that was LUS dropping fiber network along Amb Caf just a month or so ago...it will be in the surrounding neighborhoods soon.

What neighborhood are you in?

Don't know who's building the substation on the corner (La N and Bonin)

I have Cox as well, but I have another home near w Congress that has LUS and it is awesome
