That's how this technology works. It does not truly understand what it is saying to you. It is a highly advanced pattern matcher and knows when people say A then B should come next based on the set of training data it has been given.
Also, from what I've seen they programmed it to give diplomatic non answers to most political and controversial topics. So ChatGPT isn't the conspiracy you guys are making it out to be, the Internet where it training data was pulled from is what you disagree with.

It's actually really use for work related things. It can come up with social media post for your business, blogs, how-to's (that are sometimes decent), and many other things.

I saw a YouTube video of a guy using it to write macros in Excel. Seems like that could be pretty useful.

My programmer friends are using it to get code. A guy on twitter built an entire website based on what GPT told him to do and sold it for $10,000
We are just getting started with this tech. It's wild.

You can use chat gpt to generate code, but you still have to know what you're doing. The example you gave is a really naive example of how it works.

Do you have reading comprehension problems or do you not understand what the word naive means?
All I said was my programming friends are using it to get code and a guy on twitter sold a website using nothing but direction from it.
Both of those are factual things that are happening and have happened.
So are you just being an a-hole or do you lack reading comprehension?

I'm enjoying the service so far. I've had it generate letters, a Python script with a logger, dad jokes, and a handful of Excel calculators related to finance. I'm still trying to figure out more ways to leverage the technology as a personal assistant. Overall, I am very pleased with my initial usage of ChatGPT.
I do have a relative who is a techie and they refuse to touch the software in fear of personal data collection. I think personal data collection is inevitable though considering the amount of software that currently harvests our information. My intent is to get current with technology and not fall behind more than I already have even with the risks.

Gotta ask it how it would recommend disposing of a 115 lb body.

Dear ChatGPT, "what is a woman?"

I love Bama,
Some dude on twitter didn't sell a website for 10k based on what chatgpt told him to do. That's a naive understanding of software development and chatgpt.

Yeah, he's asking chatgpt to write the pieces he needs. That's not what your post implied.

quote:I checked out the site, and it is in no way, shape, or form worth $10k. So I checked out the company that bought it, and it looks to me like that $10k was well spent on marketing their actual product. I don't see the use of this guy's chatbot site as it gives me about 90% wrong answers. An example:
A guy on twitter built an entire website based on what GPT told him to do and sold it for $10,000
