Can I go from a digital optical output to a Cat6 to a pair of RCA's?

I have an available Cat6 running from my TV to my receiver. The tv's audio output is a digital optical. Various receiver inputs, but my preferred is a pair of RCA's (like CD player In.)
Any tricks to make this happen?
Thanks!

Why?
Do you not have HDMI between the Receiver and the TV?
What model TV and Receiver? How far apart are they?

If your tv has a headphone jack, you can use the adapter linked below. I have used quite a few of them for over a year and never had any issues.

While I get the desire to do this, you really don't want to do this.
Why?
It will cause audio synching issues between your TV picture and the audio. I've found that digital Optical generally is the best when it comes to getting the pic to sync with the audio.

It also means no surround sound. Makes no sense at all unless he has an old receiver.

We had surround sound with (stereo) RCA's long before digital optical...

Not with only a left and right input.

Been quite a while. My mind only wants to go back to Dolby Digital.

If you just want an RCA cable, fish a speaker wire through and buy some connectors from Amazon.
If you already have a digital connection, that’s pretty much better in every way though.

That's exactly what Dolby Surround/Pro Logic does.
That's right. A prologic decoder worked with the polarity of the right and left analog inputs from Dolby prologic recordings to produce a L + R + C + surround signal.
FWIW, I still have a working Pro-logic receiver that's close to 30 years old at this point. They don't build 'em like they used to...
