Has anyone built simple web pages before? What's the best way to do this?

For example, if I wanted to make a web page for a real estate listing, or a simple generator installation business, very basic sites...this is more for marketing than anything.

What's the best way to do this?

Please explain like you are talking to a 5 year old, but I am somewhat computer savvy.

Thanks in advance.

A managed Wordpress site, its point and click/drag and drop simple approach. Plus add-ins to customize functionality as needed.

I built my wife's website without ever having done one before. I used WordPress and OceanWP. There are a lot of tutorials that will walk you through the whole process. I know photoshop, so that helped with making icons and such. I still need to figure out a pay portal.

I would just go with Wix or Squarespace and call it a day.

Wix is as easy as it gets.

I have a web development side business and even I use it because I can produce remarkable results in such a short amount of time.

You can easily utilize static hosted websites on AWS. More work involved than with netlify but a combination of Route53 for DNS, CloudFront for CDN and S3 for hosting is less than $2 per month.

CLI makes it super easy to push updates. AWS has a pricing calculator on its console to get a rough idea of possible costs and scales tremendously.

There will be additional cost for higher loads but it depends on bandwidth served as well as number of requests. e.x serving basic html/css/js will be a lot cheaper than serving hi-res images or audio/video files.
