Going back and forth on these headphones but can't make up my mind on which one to go with. I've listened to some tests between the two that show the NC is better on Bose but sound quality slightly better on Sony.

Tough decision. For the record, I listen to mostly rock music and would like to listen to these while mowing the yard, so NC is important.

My thread on this just last week

I chose the Sonys. Not disappointed at all.

Also, literally every review and youtube video gives the NC and sound quality edge to the Sonys. Not sure where you read and heard that Bose was better for that.

2 things Bose wins out on: Connecting to multiple devices and overall comfort. And the comfort thing is a wash according to most reviewers saying that the Sonys have come a very long way. Other than that, it's Sony. FYI.

Is the bass overpowering? That's my only concern with them.

No I've read the noise cancelling was slightly better on Bose but yeah, sound quality seems to easily win out in favor of Sony.

In it's default settings, it's perfectly fine. Obviously, you can change what you wish through the equalizer on the app.

If you say so.

I'm actually leaning toward the Sonys because the multiple Bluetooth pairing Bose offers isn't really that important. Also, I love the design on the Sony's.

You think the NC on Sony will block out lawn mower motor noise?

As you ride/push it? Not completely.

I know it won't block it out 100% but enough to wear I can listen to music without cranking the volume way up.

It will certainly help and the sound won't have to be full blast.

I got the Sony's (XM2 - previous gen) for when I was travelling internationally a lot for work. They have been absolutely fantastic. And the battery life is phenomenal. Being able to listen to a podcast at a low level without hearing engine noise on a 10 hour flight was well worth it. Very happy with my decision.

I've been debating this same issue for a little while now too. I actually went with the Sonys yesterday and really like them after a few hours of use.

Got my Sony XM3's in today. Only had time to listen to them a few minutes but man they sound great. Haven't messed with the app too much but did toggle through the different sounds. Also went start up my four wheeler and barely heard it with the music off. With the volume on about 40%, I didn't hear a sound coming from the bike...it's as if it wasn't even running. And all this was done while being in a metal frame shed where the sound is even louder.

Really impressed.
