Now they do. They look pretty slick, too.

Looks like my old Passport Silver Edition, which was the best damn phone I ever had. I don't get hung up on the "oh my gosh, I have to have the latest Android OS" hysteria. Marshmallow was a big jump for the OS. My Keyone Black Edition runs Nougat. Nougat does everything I need. More permissions are granular. There isn't much difference between Oreo and Nougat that the user can really discern anyway.

Nice thing is you can get these unlocked. BB is providing monthly security patches on these phones for at least two years. Only Google Pixel does that.

I also like using the keyboard to access apps. Convenient instead of moving screens back and forth.

I was diehard B.B. for the longest time. Used them up through when the s5 dropped. I love the look and keyboard, but we now live in a day where screen real estate is key

Great looking phone. I loved my Bold and Tour back in the day. I miss a tactile keyboard often. That said, I don't know that I could go back to BB in 2018

Yep, they are in the software and services business. This phone is made by Blackberry Mobile which is a subsidiary of TCL. The real Blackberry doesn't make phones anymore and only support the software side of things. The last great phone the real Blackberry made was the Passport, may it rest in peace.

Hopefully, TCL stepped up their game because the KeyOne doesn't hold a candle to the Passport. Maybe they got it right with the Key2 but I doubt it.

My question was going to be if the bootloader is locked or not. Of course Verizon will do it on their own later.

Yeah, the specs aren't all that but you get to pay for the "premium" Blackberry (but not really Blackberry) experience. You want to know what's really funny? They have raised the launch price of the Key2 compared to the launch price of the KeyOne and they are using the EXACT same screen as the older KeyOne. That screen sucked in 2017 and it still sucks in 2018. They are milking the small BB fan base for all they're worth.

Nope. They want you to pay more for less.
