We use PDFCreator at work. It basically prints to PDF.

Perhaps you shouldn't be using a computer.

Like others have said, it's pretty easy. You do need to have your line weights set up correctly for it to look it's best. But if you're asking this question, you probably don't know what line weights are.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't know how to do this, you probably shouldn't be using Autocad. Autocad has a built-in pdf plotter listen in the plotter options.

What about batch converting .dwg to .pdf?

A dwg is 1:1 scale. You need to define a scale to get it into a pdf. The only way I know to do that is in paper space in CAD.

I usually just input the scale I want to plot in the plot dialog setup....all in model space.

We are getting a logo screen printed onto jerseys for a softball team. A teammate's wife created it using cad and gave us the file. The business doing the screen printing needs it in PDF format.

I'm not using cad. She is, but she's out of town now. All we have is the image in .cad format. The screen printer says saving or printing as PDF will not work for him. The file needs to be converted.

I print to PDF and digitally sign documents every day. I do not deal with screen printers or cad every day.

Autodesk makes a free product called Trueview, where you can open a CAD file. I've only used it to open an earlier file format and save down, but I think you can print to PDF from there too.

Just print screen and make a pdf of the jpeg or bmp file. Autocad prints in pdf though. You can select window mode and draw a box around the object and print that way. Sounds like someone doesnt know how to use it.

Would probably too low a dpi for printing a quality document. Email the file to me and I'll print it to PDF.

.CAD is an old file format from a software called QuickCAD. Autodesk acquired QuickCAD to essentially dissolve competition. Autodesk purposely left out .CAD functionality.

Even if you can open .CAD, you may not be getting full functionality to print as PDF. (This may also be the reason the screen printing company needs PDF because even they can't figure out how to get it to a workable format)
