Call me a luddite, but I am firmly in the "I need my SD card" camp.

Get the XL if you want a bigger screen
The XL has the same size screen as the S7 edge, it's just a bigger phone.
You know, because an XL bezel is what we all want.

Man, the Pixel isn't waterproof, doesn't support SD cards, has a smaller screen, and doesn't support wireless charging. It is basically the anti-Note 7.
Yep. You're definitely a Samsung user.

SD card- old, sloppy outdated storage option. There is a reason the better phone manufacturers got away from it. It is absolutely unnecessary with google photos, drive, music, etc.
Wireless charging- suboptimal charging gimmic. Again, a reason higher end manufacturers dont use it. It is not quick, has nothing over quick charge technology. Purely a selling tactic for the less tech educated crowd.
Pixel has a XL that is 5.5 inches. Small screen? Lol.
Waterproofing is a fine feature, but not necessarily a need. I have NEVER drowned a phone in my life. Also, that's what insurance is for. I'll take build quality and form factor over waterproofing any day. To me its just another selling gimmic.

The Pixel XL has a 5.5 inch screen. The Note 7 had a 5.7 inch.
You guys are just looking for things to complain about

The pixel isn't worth the price. Many have said that. Deal with it.

The Note 7 went for $850. The PIxel XL 128 Gb is $869.
They are very comparable.
People are getting pissy at the price of super premium phones, but the hardware has advanced so much that is just how much the machines are going to cost these days.
You can still get a great phone for the $400 or less price, but you will just have to make a sacrifice on some of the features.

This is what I have, and no complaints at all - and that's not even with any of the modular components.
I plan on getting the battery mod at some point.

Comparable price, but very very very different phones obviously.
You're forgetting the note 7 is a unique phone that many are willing to pay for because of its unique feature. The Google pixel by all measures is nothing unique to the average person.

Yet the Note was both shorter and narrower, which is pretty incredible. The Pixel's bezels are huge for a phone being released in 2016.
Like I said, the "XL" basically means an extra large bezel.

That is actually true. The note screen better utilized the space on the phone.
I had to do a double take as I thought someone was posting from my account

Lol. Ok. Samsung is trash with a shitty , software strapping UI and gimmicky outdated features. Oh, and it's a fire hazard. But it's pretty with an SD card and wireless charging! Deal with it.

Only the note 7 had issues, the other phones are absolutely fine.

No they arent. Keep telling yourself that though. Samsungs phones are notoriously early adopters of hardware/software issues. Period.

Until the Note 7 debacle, really the only issue that was remotely prevalent in Samsung devices was the potential for crappy GPS reliability (and that was hit or miss).
The Note 5 S Pen issue was a potential inconvenience but not a major issue.
Samsung hasn't always been great about software updates, but often that's a carrier issue as Samsung often posted updates on its website for users to self-update when carriers took to long.

Pixel is Verizon only no?
I need att. Thinking about the s7edge. Looks good but wondering if the same overheating problems may happen?

If you buy the pixel direct from google, it is unlocked and can be used on any carrier.
Posted on 10/12/16 at 12:08 pm to Tiger Ryno
You should be good with the s7edge if that's what you like. It doesn't have the battery problems the note 7 did.

Clearly, you haven't owned Samsung phones, thus you shouldn't speak about that which you haven't yourself experienced.
Personally, the software updates are not a big deal for me. I've never cared when it came, just updated when it came, the rest was fine. My 3 Samsung's have been great. I'm not interested in Google's first phone attempt at ridiculous costs.
