I don't need 80ppm. I don't need color. Just a solid multifunction solution for the house that gets the job done. Space isn't an issue. I have room for an enterprise type solution. Can be attached via network or usb to a computer.

Anyone have good things to say about recent purchases?

We have a Brother INKvestment MFP in the office that has performed well. I've been satisfied with it.

I’ve always been a big fan of the mid range brother laser all-in-ones. They got really fast in scanning around 2009 but then, some time around 2015, they started putting chips in their toner cartridges. I haven’t looked at one in a decade now.
I’d check Reddit. Printers at least used to be an emotional topic for people so you can prob easily find out who the good guys are now and who’s making that flashy thing you’ll cuss at for the next decade.

L-A-S-E-R. Brother hasn't done me wrong in almost 20 years. You can get them remanufactured from their website and save 30%. My last one came "remanufactured" with less than 500 pages on the drum. If you missed the important point, LASER.

Brother MFC 8900 (or better yet, find a remanufactured 5850).

A Brother B&W laser multifunction has been very solid for us - for years now. Obviously it could fax, but I never have. It scans and prints for a reasonably low cost/low maintenance requirement.
