My two smart TVs are old and the smart functions are basically worthless. I am tired of watching the baseball games on my tablet and I don't even have the correct cord for my Surface. I see people talk about Roku, Chromecast etc. I stream nothing, so I don't know about this stuff. Which one if all I am going to do is watch LSU baseball??

Firestick is pretty damn easy.

Would be about the same as Roku or Chromecast I assume. I would just go with whatever is cheaper if ESPN is all you want it for.

Maybe even just cast from your phone to your tv?

Just get one of the cheap versions of roku, chromecast, firestick, etc. Usually around 30 bucks and you can leave it connected to your tv for any streaming/casting you want to do. I'm a fan of the roku stuff personally.

Roku is great.

I have a fire stick because I want to control as much stuff as possible with Alexa, but that gives me more issues than Roku ever did.

If this is the case, you'll need a new TV. The cast devices are going to need a wifi connection and a strong one at that.

Firestick gets my vote.

I love Roku, BUT I have had issues with ESPN on Roku. Same with a couple of friends. My AppleTV would work fine.

But the Firestick I bought recently has been the best of all. Cheap too.

A friend bought the Roku premium several weeks ago and had awful problems trying to watch LSU baseball. Got a Firestick, and problem solved.

I'm not following. What does it matter if the TV doesn't recognize once you use one of these devices? My wifi is great.

These devices don't cast to the TV. The devices get their info from wifi, but they have an HDMI line that plugs right in the TV to transfer that info to the screen.

The WatchESPN app is very buggy on my 2 Rokus. Streams will just stop for no apparent reason, and I have to exit the app and go back in to get it back up.

I don't have that problem with my Chromecast.

Leaning this way. I have the google home app and use it a lot with my Insignia Voice, which is my favorite toy of the last decade or so.

Apple TV works great but is more expensive. You can watch four games on the screen at one time (and switch back and forth easily).

Any hardwired ROKU is super easy and works great for me. Not buggy.

No no no. Roku is awful for ESPN. I have had a ROKU stick and Roku hardiwred Ultra. And this is a problem for multiple ROKU users with a wide variety of internet servers

Both extremely choppy for ESPN.

Get a firestick
