I’m interested in setting up some JBL Authentics series, JBL Bar 1300X, and some JBL XD-6 speakers for outside. Advice on how to do this? Or should I go with Sonos?

I’m leaning to JBL because I’ve seen reviews that the JBL Authentics 500 are better than the sonos 5, and the JBL soundbar is a good price right now.

Yamaha has a nice multi room system. I’m not sure how their top of the line equipment would be with the JBLs. It’s at least another option from Sonos.

Everyone has multi room wifi music now.

Denon and marantz use Heos, Yamaha uses musicast, onkyo has onkyo controller app. Sonos is Sonos. All let you play music independently or grouped

All of these amps can push your JBL speakers.
-Heos and Sonos have smart soundbars in addition to amps
-Sonos soundbars have decent bass, Heos soundbars do not. If pairing with sub (both have wireless subs) it doesn’t matter though

I’d stay away from onkyo. Musicast is decent as is Heos. Sonos probably best but more expensive. You can get a decent 2 zone musicast or Heos reciever for the price of one sonos amp.

I have had everyone of these systems and currently use savant for multi room music. Savant is not DIY however

If done right it can be cheaper than sonos for music

Depending on number of zones, yes. But their sound bar sounds like arse.

I really want to ditch my Sonos OG Playbar + sub + 2 OG Play:1s for 2 HomePods. I really, really want someone to tell me that 2 HomePods sound better than that Sonos setup.

I know they don’t but I’m at a point in life where I want minimalism, simplicity and less wires/space taken up.

TigerWise, lie to me and tell me what I want to hear! :)

Harman just purchased Roon a few months ago, could stick with the Harman ecosystem and use that to stream to the JBLs.

None of those systems will be "audiophile." Sonos is hands down has the best ecosystem and honestly the best choice.

If you really want audiophile wireless/multi room then you should be getting something like the KEF LS50 wireless. Also, you could get several Sonos ports and connect them to separate component systems
