What device are you running this speedtest on? You are getting those speeds behind your own router?

It's a wired connection running from the wall to ATT's router to a google mesh puck to my PC.

Getting att fiber installed this weekend.
Is the ont typically installed inside? I know my father in law has his installed in the garage. He’s not knowledgeable enough to tell me how it connects via Ethernet indoors.
I’m assuming I have limited call on where it gets installed , but I was curious how these installs typically work.

They installed mine exactly where I wanted it in the middle of the house.
The fiber comes all the in to my guest closet to a transceiver where it converts to ethernet then connects to their router with a 3 foot ethernet cable.
Then I have it connected to a switch in the closet to distribute it.
A coax also comes out and connects to the coax splitter in the attic. I don't have traditional TV but that is just in case we want it later.
I didn't want all my equipment in the garage where it gets to be 105deg in the summer.
I have one POE access point mounted in the ceiling in the hallway and another sitting hidden in my entertainment center.
Have a switch in my entertainment center that goes to my AVR, TV, XBox, PS5, Nintendo, FireTV Cube.

When they are installing it, will they connect the mesh setup I have for me? I have an EERO extender.
Just did a speed test on my phone. 148mbps in my office next to the Cox router.
12mbps in my bedroom..... 12...

Their job is to get it installed and working, not to get your own Wifi equipment installed and working.
Some techs might, but they aren't really supposed to

That’s what I figured. As long as the eero works with it, I’ll be fine.

This is my current speed over WiFi on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I usually get 950 Mbps upload. AT&T fiber in Shreveport.

They brought AT&T fiber into out hood early last year.
My neighbor tried it and even though speed tests were good he couldn’t stream Hulu or Netflix.

Then he is doing it wrong.

Install time is 9-11 arrival.
Technician is tbd.
I saw a post with a few confirming that if you don’t have a tech assigned it’s possible it’s not happening today.
Any experience / truth with this ?

My tech showed up at 9, left at 11:30. He did his thing then helped up with the eero extender. Turns out one of our Ethernet jacks was bad in the house that we were using the extender on. So he replaced it. Went above and beyond. Tipped him $60 for his help. He was the first person to finally solve the issue.

What does your speed test indicate for up/down speeds. I have 1 G service and at first could only get 3-400 up/down. Now, after a month, it’s barely 75 up and 80 down. I’m about to call and see if it’s my modem that is an issue.

Our extender was only putting out like 100 but the guy helped us re wire the Ethernet output and it boosted it to 600 from the extender. He said to just reset and reconfigure it to get the full gig.
