We need a printer, but it will print more pictures than paper files.
What should I be looking for?

Like photographs? I would look for 2 different devices.

Yes like pictures. OK 2 dang printers. Any opinions on what is better or worse?
and laser jet just a basic one? What about the ones that Shaq endorses. Where you refill the ink tuns?

Epson or Canon. Decide what the maximum size you'll print and go from there. Color or grayscale, certain models/systems are getter at grayscale if that's important.

Is that the Epson with a tank? I’ve had one for over a year now and really like it. You do save a lot on ink.

Just bought one and it never worked right out of the box. Blue ink would not print. After several hours of tech time, they are sending me another one.

I've had to power clean mine a couple of time due to the same issue. Usually happens if I have nothing to print for a while.
