Nah, we're about a year away from the under screen camera being ready so there won't be any point.
The "dot" and notch for phones is just a temporary solution until that technology is ready.
We're getting the in screen fingerprint scanners this year and next year will be the cameras barring any setbacks.

I think it's fine on a laptop. It'd be awful on a cell phone.

Am I the only person not triggered or raging about having a notch? I’ve had my iPhone X since launch and I’ve had no issues with it being there.

i mean, you may not notice it anymore but why would you be willing to compromise on your phone screen?
its a technical bandaid, there's no design asthetic in the history of LED screens that insert a trapezoid into your viewing area.

It's for the camera. I prefer to have the notch with battery, signal, time, etc on the sides of it than a thick bezel like the iPhone 7 and before.
The handset speaker and selfie cam need to go somewhere.
