Apple thinks it's worth that much and people are willing to pay that price. What other "justification" do you need?

Does anyone own the latest generation 27" iMac? If so, what's your thoughts/opinion?

I know they're over priced, but I still want one...

I don't own one, but they're solid computers. I wouldn't buy now, new ones are a few months away.

Lmao. Only Apple. Here's a $500 dollar computer you can buy for $1100!

My first Mac was a 2007 iMac.

My son still uses it and it works great. It's never had to be serviced, never had to call tech support for it.

7 years old.

Can't say the same for any PC I ever owned in the years before I switched to Mac.

Maybe that's where the extra money comes in.

Yeah, that's what I've read as well. Might end up pulling the trigger when they come out...

You must buy shitty PC's then or not be technical enough to build your own for even cheaper with more performance.

This system will mostly be appealing to people who have seen WIndows 8.

clearly you've never used it and decided to jump on the "windows 8 sucks" bandwagon instead of making a decision for yourself.

My last PC was a Vaio desktop. Not a shitty PC by any stretch.

I've just had an immeasurably better experience being in the Apple ecosphere than before. I'm sorry if I've offended you by buying and using the things that I prefer.

I appreciate the insult, though.

Shocker that people don't build their own PCs. Goodness there are some dorks in here.

I bought my first mac in 2009 and I still have it and I have had zero problems out of it. Parents are on their 2nd computer and about to have to get a 3rd.

Me too. I'm not sure why it offends people when you say you prefer a Mac. I got this MacBook in 2008 and have not have one single issue with it. I've been very pleased with it. The Dell Inspiron I had before it had to go to the shop every year to get cleaned up. I'm also a fan of the Apple operating software. I can switch between programs more quickly than I can on the PC.

I keep hearing this sort of thing, but I had a mac and it was terrible and I got rid of it. I suspect that the people who claim they have never had a problem with a mac are using it for only the most basic of tasks.

I just used mine for school work, music and other random stuff so nothing too intense. My same computer I had before I did the same things and it just got terrible over time.

You act like it's apple's to apple's, then when i point out the differences you act like it's not really a difference.

You tell me what looks better:

Tech discussion becomes an aesthetic discussion.

I don't really have a problem with people owning or pimping Apple's vs PCs, I just don't get the "it looks better" argument. Of all the absolute worthless comparisons, that is the worst.

Unless you're trying to use a computer as a status symbol, in which case have fun.
