The only thing I like about it really, is the edge to edge screen. Other than that its pretty meh.
That's kind of my thought too.
I want Apple to take my money, but I'm not feeling it with the X, especially with the November date.
Also, does FaceID work too well? Meaning will it unlock if I just look at it to see the time or for notification.

You still have to swipe up to open the phone.

Will the 8s go down in price when X comes out in November or stay the same yall think?
Posted on 9/12/17 at 2:30 pm to Lazy But Talented
Well that's fricking dumb

Yeah. I have a lot of the same sentiment as many on here. I'm on the yearly upgrade plan through Apple but may not even upgrade this year. The 8 is a slight change from the 7 (it appears) and the X doesn't look all that much different in capability either. Sure, the cameras are improved as well as the chip but that was to be expected. I really don't care about the augmented reality capabilities of the new phones. Really, the only thing that may push me to upgrade is the wireless charging capabilities. Of course, then I'd need to buy charging mats.

Does wireless charging work with a case on?

No, the price will remain the same. What's gone down in price is the 6s and 7

It does for my wife's Galaxy S8

ya im running trials with my 7 now just to see how this faceID will all play out and the thought of having to pick my phone up every time to unlock is beyond annoying.
it might seem insignificant but placing my index finger on the phone to unlock it while it sits on my desk is something i do not want to give up.

Are they forcing you to use faceID? That would be very lame.

There certainly is less reason to upgrade from last year's model, but there's still a lot to like when you are ready to upgrade.
- Dual Lens Camera in smaller form factor
- Larger Screen in a smaller form factor
- Improved battery life
- Wireless Charging
- OLED Screen
- AR stuff
I'm interested to see how the Xs hold up to drops. OLED is supposed to be shatterproof but in some demos I've seen with OLEDs they get scratched pretty good even if they don't shatter. I'm waiting for the day I don't have to buy a case for my phone.

If it's that important you may be able to just not keep it locked at all
Where you would just swipe up and that's it
Can't you disable passcode and touchID?

Alternative would be to type your pass code in every time.
ETA: unless you don't want to have a code I assume.

y'all think Apple is underestimating how often people pick up their phone, put it down, then pick it back up 2 seconds later?
Also, how many people get in car wrecks staring at their phone for 10 seconds trying to get it to unlock?

Did they go over pricing for the 7?
128gb 8 is $799?

see, i agree, but that's a dilemma too
not sure how i feel about having a phone unlocked at all times

TouchID hasn't been around your whole life
I'm sure we'll be able to move on and live without it
I've certainly lived fine without my headphone jack

They weren't able to work TouchID into the the screen since there is no longer a physical Home button. The only option for unlocking is FaceID or entering the pass code.

That really depends on how accurate and fast it is. If it's as good as they claim we'll quickly get used to a new way of doing things. It did reportedly fail on stage, but TouchID fails on occasion too when the phone or my finger are unclean.

I hope I won't have to wash my face or shave every day
