Tomorrow, Apple is having their special event when they announce all the new models for their products. Supposedly, a lot of info leaked this weekend...
LINK
iPhone 8, iPhone 8+, iPhone X, Apple TV 4k, Apple Watch 3
Pretty excited about this as I'm a huge Apple fan!

I'm already dreading trying to preorder the X. It's never fun every year trying to get one. Wish they would just take orders from Apple Replacement Plan first, so I didn't have to do this part.

I'm curious if they will kill the 7. I have a 6s right now and was looking at just grabbing a 7 when the prices dropped. But with the X and the 8 I doubt they keep the 7 along with an economical line like the se.

Cracked my 6+ screen the other day but not going to replace it because I'm waiting for the new ones to comes out

I'll probably get the X
Currently have a 7 and doubt it will be a huge jump to go to the 8

So the X is supposed to be better, right?
I am thinking of making an upgrade myself, my 6s is fine but it's only 16GB (provided by work). I think I can get a new one through work within the next few months, but it will only be the free ones - so probably a 7.
Can you still but the phone straight up from Apple? I don't have a contract, but would just stick the SIM from my work phone in the new one.

The 8 will be the standard upgrade. Just a bit better than the 7
The X is supposed to be a stand alone phone with a ton of extra features that the 8 won't have
Not sure about the Apple question. They are all financed through your carrier

Yes, you can buy the phone directly from Apple at full cost or do the yearly replacement plan directly through Apple without dealing with your carrier.

After the hassle it was last year.....I just wish they would ship us the new one and we can send off or trade-in. I stressed so much over getting a damn phone.
Wonder what the odds are of me getting a phone on release day or around release day with the limited stock they are rumored to have?

Dam, do you know if you can sign up for iPhone upgrade or whatever the program is when ordering the phone? I assume you can, but I haven't preordered an iPhone since the 4s.

Thanks Dallas
I just moved to a multiline plan w/ my fiancee, she's paying monthly for a 7, I brought over my own phone for my line/number (so upgrade eligible). Do I just need our account info to purchase through Apple? I can't foresee our multi line plan being a problem, but I'm just trying to anticipate any kinks.

They are doing mail in this year. So that's a big plus.

Not good, stock is supposed to be empty in the first few minutes.

If I can do the mail-in option I will.
Would kind of suck if I have to wait another month or two for the new phone and make more payments on my current phone...which would set me back on the phone that comes out next year and so on....
Also, I hope they don't give such a small selection of phones like they did last year. I remember they set aside a very small amount of certain models last year for the replacement program. Man last release was such a hassle.

Can I trade in my 6plus towards the cost of a new phone? If so, how does that work as far as sending in the old phone after you receive the new one?

So will I, I hate going to Apple stores. There are none in Chattanooga cause we have a company that got rights to selling Apple in Chattanooga before Apple Stores existed and now they won't bring one here because of that. There is never stock in Knoxville and the stores in Atlanta/Nashville are a freaking clusterfook.

In what creative way is apple going to pawn off oled displays being their idea?

Agreed, I actually didn't get a phone on preorder night because I wanted black screen borders and they weren't available in any store near me by the time I got in.
After a few days of yelling at Apple about it, they got me one in Atlanta to pick up on release day. Was such a pain in the arse when I could of bought one outright for release date sent to my house.

I have a feeling they will get a lot of complaints from Apple upgrade users not being able to order the model they want and having to pay extra months on their current model.
Curious as to how they will respond. They promised a new phone every year and not necessarily every year on release date so they probably have some wiggle room, but people are still going to be pissed.

I don't get why they just don't create a form for us to specify what we want early and try to meet this demand first. It's probably the most lucrative way for them to sell phones and it would get more people on the plan.
