athletes get that stuff for free. don't throw that line out there like it is relevant to the regular population. i would bet that every athletic department on campus reflects what you are saying. I'm talking about the other 95% of people on campus. The ones who actually buy Apple devices.

Cool announcements, but what a hideous performance to end that show though.

I would have loved to have seen this board when companies removed disk drives.

I can only imagine what someone would do if they had to use one of the newer Macbook Pro's.
I have two of them and have literally never needed to use a disc drive for a single task.

yeah I was kind of pissed at myself because I shattered my phone this weekend right before the new one come out, but not too upset anymore after reading this. The most significant thing of note seems to be the camera which I could give a frick about

Well like I already said, every single person I know, not through work but personally, has bluetooth headphones. It's not some rare technology that only a niche part of population uses.

and i would bet that every single one of those people also use wired headphones for convenience sake at times. And Apple just made that extremely inconvenient.

the bigger thing is that now you can get the 6 and 6s with 32GB at the same price that you could last week for the 16GB.

Apple has been pretty forward thinking in terms of removing obsolete peripherals.
Bye 3.5" floppy, CD Rom, VGA, 3.5mm, and bringing in USB-C

People had to adjust. It's no different than tv's going from SD, to HD to 4K. Wired technology is a thing of the past when it comes to external devices.
Well, except for there being no objective disadvantage in quality from SD to HD.
Apple can do what they want. Your personal anecdotes notwithstanding, Bluetooth audio is objectively inferior, and plenty of people will be miffed by what they'll view as an unnecessary move.
I would bet a lot of money that Apple lost money on its decision to stick with one port on the MacBook. That's fine, progress over profits in their mind, but nonetheless, it's probably a measurable factor.

I don't even put disc drives in my personal PCs, and have been doing that for the past 5 years or so. I take them out of all of my laptop's and replace them with SSDs.
Unless people start making affordable Bluetooth amps that can be paired with headphones, 3.5mm cables will always be used. Discs were replaced by USBs, not wireless technology

My biggest concern is for long car rides. On these I need my phone plugged in to the aux cord and car charger.

Does your car not have bluetooth?

Yes.
I personally use bluetooth Beats every day when I work out or run and so does my girlfriend.
I don't know a single soul that works out with wired in earphones.

Nope. I'm sure I'm not the only one too.

A10 seems pretty beastly.
