Anyone seen this issue - Samsung Smart Switch and music files transfer.

Recently got a S21+ and used the Samsung Smart Switch app to migrate all my stuff from a S9+ to it.
It seems to have copied everything, but I was going out today to mow, and wanted to listen to my music. I had a bunch of CDs that I had copied to my old phone to listen to when working out, mowing, etc.
I see them on my new phone, but any music app I try, only one of my CD's will play. All the others are there, the songs show their length, etc like they are there, but when I try to play a song or shuffle the album, nothing happens. It will open the song, but the play button doesn't do anything. Tried a couple of different free music player apps, and they all behave the same. Only one of my recorded albums works, but one is working.
Just odd, don't know why.

When you're on your S9+ transfer the media files to your sd card.
When you've done that successfully then remove the sd card out the S9+ and into the S21.
Usually within the music apps there are settings which allow it to sync manually. Try this and it should work.
If it doesn't work after this then it could be also that the files werent necessarily bought via the phone so the apps will sometimes not play for copyright issues.
I have numerous bypass methods.
Try the first one and let me know.
Leave your email and I'll email ya if ya need extra help

If you still have the S9 copy everything to the SD card, then use use the computer to transfer to the S21 via USB.
Just swapped out S*+'s for S21+ Ultra's last week...smart switch over USB worked great for 2 phones, the 3rd I had to use Wifi as the USB kept disconnecting. But Smart Switch copied everything for me including a like 10G of audiobooks that all seem to play just fine. Wife's phone had 50G of pictures, transfered those via SD and then USB.
I won't ask why she needs 50G of pics on her phone when I'm looking at a 55TB NAS with offsite data replication.

Same issue with the wife's S21. Wma files were the culprit. Tried to find some music players that would play that type of file but ultimately just converted them to mp3.

Am I the only one who doesn't store photos, videos and music files on their phone?

I keep a copy of the DEFCAD and some other library files on my phone as well...you never know when you might need to stream gcode to certain devices...

all my music streams from plex which is only a problem when my power goes out but its still more reliable than google and i can choose uncompressed or 320.
all in all its been a huge PITA to clean everything up but i didnt realize how poorly googled matched my music until now.
amazing. google had convinced me to go with a lukewarm shitty solution and i was drinking the koolaid.

They were on the SD card in the S9+, so I do have them. Not sure if my notebook has a SD Card slot, but will check.

Well, I got the files off my SD card. found an adapter and an old laptop and got them saved to a USB drive. Now to copy them back over to the phone. Fun times.

Believe it or not, there are still places in the US where there is no cell phone, much less data reception...

Update: Okay, so I copied the files from the SD card to the phone, but most of them still aren't playing. They are there, I can see the songs, but nothing happens when I try to play them.
I think maybe I need to convert them from wma files to .mp3. Does that make sense? How?

take a look here... lots of methods, some easier than others.. (if you have a Linux machine you can batch convert them all with one command)

Sorry to bump this thread, but wanted to give an update. I did download a file converter app, and converted the media files from .wma to .mp3 and they now play on my phone.
