How is the data coverage and speed? How is the 5g? Dead areas near you?

Where at? In Jefferson parish and the suburbs of new orleans, to me, it's the best carrier if staying in this location 99% of the time.

I have a few dead spots in Alexandria, spots between Alex and BR, and spots on 165 between Alex and Ruston. In Nola it's great. Fine in Little Rock as well.

I tried to get the test wifi hotspot from them for a trip to gulf shores from laffy but they still haven’t mailed it after a week that I ordered it. AT&T 5g sucks in my area and even more on the beach so I wanted to try it out. No luck on that so idk yet.

AT&T has been brutally bad since the move to 5G. Everything that company touches turns to crap.

Tmobile 5G is very good in all the areas of BR that I go to.

I'm not in Lake Charles, but I just switched this week, and so far so good. I had switched from AT&T to Verizon this past fall, but Verizon was crap where I work and recently got worse. Before switching, I borrowed a T-Mobile Hotspot from EBR Library and tested out the service in various places around town.

I have Google Fi which uses TMobile towers here in Nola. Better than the Verizon I had before.

That’s been my experience as well. Absolutely awful customer service also.

AT&T should also annointed as having the worst customer portal of any business. Besides being horribly designed it takes forever to load a lot of the pages.

I switched to them last fall, mainly because they had a 55 and over plan that much less than Att. I haven’t skipped a beat since switching.

How are you liking Fi? I signed up for the sim card and unlimited for 1 cell at 50$. I had a referral code so I think my 2nd month will be 30$.
I was/am currently using Mint Mobile for 30$ a month but it's hotspot is limited to 5gb. So is Fi on the unlimited plan but I like the option of being able to upgrade to unlimited plus at a moment's notice in case we travel or need hotspot data > 5gb.
Also, once my kids get cell phones soon enough, the 4 cell plan at Fi is 20$ a month for unlimited. That's virtually impossible to beat. 4 lines for 80$ (plus tax).
ETA: I currently have an iphone 12 pro max and I think the biggest kickers with Fi is that:
1) you don't get 5g. Kinda sucks but meh.
2) you have to use the Fi app to check voicemails. Not a biggie.
Anyone else use Fi with an iphone?

So many better options out there. What a stupid plan for that type of money sheesh

I'm gonna give it a whirl for 2 months since 1st month = 50$ and 2nd month will be 30$.
However, I'll then at least have a Fi sim card in case I travel abroad and need it and/or I need more hotspot usage for a month or 2.
Odds are I'll probably go back to Mint Mobile at 25$ a month until my kids get cellular service but got a year or hopefully 2 before then.

Have them for cell service and home internet. Home internet has been just about flawless. Cell service is getting better and better from where it was a couple of years ago. No problems in populated areas but can be a little difficult to do things if you're out in the sticks

As long as it is not game day it is fine. You lose data on gameday but usually texts and calls go through.

Fi has been awesome. No complaints at all. Price can't be beat with 3 phones. I have android and get 5g, not sure about why iphone doesn't. My voicemail works like it always did
