I like that YouTube TV has local channels. Like to try it out but it seems like it may not work for me.

I've tried a couple ways but never could get it to work. I have hulu live tv it has all the locals and works well on firestick.

Everything I find on Google is just for a bootleg youtube app called youtube tv. Sucks

I would expect the blood feud between Amazon and Google to span decades. You'll either need a different streaming device or pick another service.

Assuming you tried whatever App Store is native to your TV?

Nope. Look for a used nexus player or a xiaomi mi box. Or get a tv that has android tv built in.

Here's a link to the list of supported devices: LINK
Roku ($30 - $100), Chromecast ($35 & $70) and Mi Box S ($60, Android TV + Chromecast) are the least expensive options. Apple TV and Nvidia Shield are both great devices but cost more.

Just buy a chrome cast. It's cheap.
You tube and Amazon have been behaving like children, and it's annoying.

On a fire stick, I use the Firefox browser app and go to YouTube from there.

Get a nVidia Shield. Not only can it get Hulu TV, YouTubeTV, Amazon Prime, Sling, DirecTV Now, Vudu, Fandango, Etc.., it can also be a Plex server AND a seriously cool family gaming system.

Nvidia shield doesn’t have a DirectvNow app. I’ve seen some workarounds but it’s not the straightforward installing an app process as with the others you mentioned.

Nope. You will need a Roku or Apple TV.

I recently subscribed and assumed I could get it on my 4 fire tv devices, no go...I had to break down and get Rokus, highly recommend and get the stick+ if you go this route
Side note, supplement youtube tv with the $16 Philo package which gives you all the discovery owned channels.

What type of TV do you have? YouTube TV has been adding native apps to various smart tv's. The built in app on my Vizio works just as well as the Roku app.

Fire TV is better than any stick
But if OP has a smart tv the YouTube tv app should be for download

As someone said earlier, I have two older FireTV boxes. I use the Mozilla/Firefox app. I log in to Youtube and it is right there. My wife subscribed for 30 days, not anything to be overly excited about. Plenty of other sources to get what you want.
