Another email question - I'm getting email for another person to my gmail.

So, I have a gmail address that I use for certain websites, not my main gmail email account, something.something@gmail.com. I'm told that from gmail's perspective, that is the same as somethingsomething@gmail.com. The "." between the email is irrelevant to gmail, if you have one, you have all combinations of that.
Anyway, for a while now, I have been getting emails for someone who isn't me. They are addressed to my email address (the somethingsomething@gmail.com), but not addressed to me. Nothing real personal, most of them are a church leadership email group sending out updates.
I have ignored them simply because I figured at some point the person who isn't getting them would realize that they aren't receiving expected emails and they would correct it and it would stop. But it hasn't.
I got a new one last week from a medical facility asking me to sign up to view my chart. There was an unsubscribe, so I did that.
I did change the password on the account, but I'm still getting those emails from time to time. I'm stumped as to why they haven't stopped.
I did reach out to google forums, but was assured that if it's my email and I have the password, then no one else is using it.
Not sure if I need to do something. I guess I could email someone on the church list, but I sort of hate to do that, not wanting to embarrass someone.
Any thoughts?

Someone has an address very similar to yours, and they are giving out the wrong one.

You're right, dots don't matter in Gmail addresses. I'd create a filter (settings->filters and blocked addresses) that sends somethingsomething@gmail.com straight to the trash or archive.

Thanks, I might need to do that. I am bewildered that the person who isn't receiving the emails hasn't fixed it, but I also wonder if it's an older person who really doesn't use email much and isn't expecting them. But in some of the conversation they do discuss emailing out updates to everyone, so I don't know.

Yeah, I guess I could do that.

I would definitely never notice if I wasn't receiving spam emails from a church or something similar.

I had the same problem more or less. A guy in Houston thought my email was his. Took about 3 years before I got an email with his wife cc’ed on it and was able to tell her what was going on. It took two tries even then. Only stopped after I told her all the things I knew about her, her husband, kids, their school, grades, vacation plans, legal trouble, car purchase. ??

The medical facility and church group sounds familiar. Yours may be legit emails that were misdirected, but I often get spammy gmails that appear to be misdirected.
Say my name is Bob and I have bmiller@gmail.com. I will get emails that look like they are from volunteer groups that will say, "Bill, do you have the minutes typed from our last meeting? Looking forward to seeing you on the 5th." Also get emails to Betty from a hospital asking that I log in to view test results.
They've been coming for years so must be designed to try to get me to reply. Not sure where the scam goes from there. But if old Bill or Betty were not getting these emails, they would have figured it out by now.

There is a dude with my name in NC who has been giving out the wrong email address for years
He misses medical appointments and stuff all the time, which isn't surprising considering every reminder in his life goes to my account
