Air Pods vs Air Pods Pro vs Something else

Going to get my wife air pods for her birthday. Are the pros worth the extra money? Or should I be looking at something else entirely like beats? TIA.

If she’ll be using them for exercise, powerbeats pro are the best.

Just make sure whatever you get that you can return them and get something else. I had the jabra elite 75t and they sounded way better than the airpods but I had to return them because they hurt my ears after about 15min of wearing them. FWIW I like the noise canceling better on the ipod pros and they are more comfortable in my ear I can wear them for a while before I have to take them out. I guess it really depends on what she will be doing with them. If she likes the regular headphones that came with the iphones she would be happy with the regular ones.

The only differences I really see between the regular and the pro is the noise cancelling and their shape. Plus there have been complaints with noise cancelling. I have the regular version and use them a ton now that I'm working from home. Conference calls and podcasts going pretty much all day. If she's going to use them for exercising/running, you can get a little clip they slide into that holds them in place. I didn't have any issues in the gym or on the treadmill, but if she's running outside it might be nice so they don't fall out and go bouncing wherever.

I have a pair of airpods I love. Use them mainly for running to pair with my Apple Watch and they work great.

IMO the best all around earbuds (including for workouts) that don't include noise cancelling are the Master Dynamic MW07 Go. They're on sale for 150 bucks at the moment. Very lightweight and small, with great battery life and SQ that exceeds anything from Apple (and most everyone else).
BUT, all that said, I'd get my own wife Airpods. She knows what they are, they work seamlessly, and my wife doesn't care about sound quality.

I have the regular I got on sale earlier this year. Use them mainly for podcasts, music, and web conferences. Works great and have no complaints.

Does she have an iPhone? If so, go with the AirPods or AirPods pro if she is into exercise.

Thanks everyone. I went with the AirPod pros as she needs simple and good for the gym. Many thanks again.

Had air pods then won some air pod pros from work. Huge upgrade IMO
The fit, sound and noise cancelling all great. Worth the money IMO
