Building a lounge above the garage and need advice on large TV. Room will have 2 windows at opposite wall behind couch but none near the TV. TV will be used for movies/sports primarily. I’m a Costco member and have seen the Hisense 100” which looks pretty good (144hz) but I don’t know anything about TVs. Will have 5.1 surround in the ceiling and probably will use a fire stick since that’s what we have throughout the rest of the house

We will have a secondary smaller TV above the bar—65” or less

Large TV will go on far right of this drawing and secondary TV will be at bottom which is at the bar

100" has limited options. You'll pretty much just have to go with what your budget allows.

I'll restate what I meant. I think Hisense is the only 100" TV option "realistically." I think there are some other options if you are willing to go to like $20k and import from a foreign country.

Hisense is fine.

EDIT: buy from costco to get the extended warranty or if you buy from somewhere else, get the best warranty you can.

just noticed you had the approximate symbol. TCL and Samsung have 98" options. Doesn't sound like you are going to be doing tons of still image visual quality analysis on your TV. Just get whichever one you like the best whether that is based on style or smart OS platform.

Thanks
Yeah doesn’t have to 100” exactly

Just have wall space for it and would prefer a large one instead of projector/screen set up

Yeah I’m fine up to $4k or so but not $20k

Sounds badass. That samsung sounds like a decent choice but this article recommends one that is only 1500 as the "best".

Could be a paid for review though haha would have to look up more reviews

RTings has the hisense rated higher

I would go with the Hisense U8N 100", the U8 is the best bang for buck TV on the market.

The hisense also seems to be rated higher for sports viewing specifically.

Have you considered a projector? I have 120" screen. Nvmnd. I see Hisense 100" is $1900. If that's near the budget then projector likely out of the question.

Have you given any thought to one of those video walls? I've seen videos online where they have this piece of equipment that will spread one source picture over 4 TVs, or you can have 4 separate things going. They use some TVs with a thin bezel and it ends up making one ~100 inch screen, or you could have 4 50 inches going. Ideal for watching multiple games at once or blowing one up to the full size.

I thought about it. I’ve got a friend who has 4 that can work together as a single screen or separately. I think since I’m having another one over the bar I’m going to stick with the single tv

Just get a 4K short throw projector. It is much more cinema-like. The only drawback is that much like a cinema you need to lower the lights

Go with 100 inch from Costco

I’m in the TV business and nobody’s ever returned a TV because it was too big
