I bet if you hung it up at the ceiling it would have been a 3 man plus 2 ladder job.

I can't speak for OP, but in my case I had no choice but to hang it over the fireplace without major remodeling. I guess that's my fault for buying an old-ish house.

The TV got installed today, and I LOVE it. Worth every penny. I’ll post and after photo tomorrow. My biggest concern, was exactly what everyone has mentioned about the height. But sitting and watching TV this evening was very comfortable.

ETA: Posted after install, so my point doesn't matter. Looking forward to the pics because I am considering an upgrade in TV size.

That’s actually lower (at the bottom) than your 65”. Looks better IMO.

Too high for me, but that's a clean install, bigger size looks much better.

People are having all kind of problems with TV’s mounted over fireplaces. LED’s don’t like the heat.

False.
Have had a tv mounted over our wood burning fireplace for 5 years now, not one issue. Looks like his mantle is large enough to vent heat away. During raging fires I have actually thermo tested heat and it is less than 80° surface temp on bottom of the TV.

Looks great. OP, what's the width of the space your TV is mounted in?

Thanks! The width of that brick wall is 85-1/2” and the wood beam is 78”. The height from the beam to the crown is 51-1/2”

The Tv width is 74.5” and the height is 42.5”

The “neck hurting” crowd sounds so high maintenance

Looks great. The height might not be an issue after all.

We got the 77 inch LG OLED recently (upgraded from an old 43 inch Vizio), and now it's like having a life-size people in your living room.

And like someone else said, Best Buy/Geek Squad did an excellent job with our install and set-up with my existing home theater, similar to yours.

Geek Squad did the install on mine. They did excellent. Installed in about 30 mins and we’re out of there.

If you’re in the market for a TV, you’re not going to beat Bestbuy’s Black Friday deals. Get the total tech membership for a year and you get install free and you will more than likely get a discount on your TV mount. Many other benefits of the membership

This. TV install would have cost $250 all by itself. But paying $200 for the Total Tech membership covered the cost of the TV install, plus extra warranty coverage on the TV and any other tech we would buy from Best Buy during the coverage period. This really sweetened the deal.

This included the mount, running power, cables and pulling cables to the TV from another location for cable, antenna and HDMI?

I believe they will run cables if it’s behind Sheetrock. They wouldn’t do anything with
Mine because mine was touted to an entertainment center on another wall, but I already had a HDMI cord run for the previous TV. They install mount and TV and will hook up your sound sound system if you have one.
