You can cancel as soon as you order, I cancelled mine immediately. You will get the full month even if you cancel immediately.

If you're asking about the free version you get with Prime vs their premium subscription, there are a limited number of titles available with just prime...premium pretty much unlocks everything. I chose Amazon for the simplicity and because my kids have echo dots, not sure how it compares to Apple music and other services
