So the kid had a Birthday party to go to this PM. He's good buddies with the kid of our youth pastor, who's a big LOTR's fan. So he printed both of them "The one ring" before I dropped him off.
The kid was schooling me on Blender last night.

I like the enclosures to help with environmental consistency around the unit. Some have HEPA filtration that you can attach, as well.

One of the best things I've printed so far was a simple jig for drilling screw holes at a specific spacing.
Our entertainment system cabinet in the basement would only fit a 55" TV despite it being almost 10' across. It has an upper shelf on it that was about 1.5" - 2" too short to hold a 65' TV. My wife has said the TV down there is too small FOREVER. (that's when I have to remind her SHE bought the thing.
)
Anyway, I took my calipers, measured the distance of the holes, diameter of the hole and made a simple jig in tinker cad. Now I'm several hundred dollars poorer but we have a new 65" Samsung in the basement.

I print and design everything I possibly can. I love using it for organization.
Look into skadis, it's an IKEA version of peg board. Endless attachments, I have a 4'x6' section of my office with all sorts of shite on it, every bit 3d printed.
I've designed so many things to customize organization for our RV, my office, kids rooms, repaired things, skimmer basket for my pool, lock for barn doors, 20 1 dozen egg holders for my wife (yes I have 240 eggs on my counter)
One of my goofy favorites is I print myself a koozie for every event. Christmas - Santa koozie, summer - American koozie, etc etc.
It's fun and useful.

Already looking to upgrade from the A1 mini to the A1 with the AMS...

Let me save you some money, skip the A1 and just go ahead and upgrade straight to the P1S or X2D.

Unfortunately, I don't have the space. (it's a height issue) :(

So the A1 and the mini have pretty much be running non stop at our house. The kid went and made Catan peices in a variety of colors "in case people get bored with the standard colors." He's also designed a bunch of "tall ships" to add to a couple of his board games. He's created neckerchief woggles for his scout troop and trinkets for his bike team (key chains, ear rings etc.) Tonight a printed a plastic snap button for a fishing shirt thar had lost one. Wr also made a start gate for our 3 lane Pinewood derby track that one of his buddies used for his eagle scout project.
Best purchase I've made in ages.

When I get my table space in the garage set up I'll be buying a hobby CNC as well to complement my P2S. Who knew making parts could be so much fun?

So for some reason, likely summer bordem, my kid pulled out the nerf guns that have lived under his bed, untouched, for the past few years. He's been customizing them by printing a bunch of rail accessories for them. Scopes, sights bi-pods and the like. Mostly pre-designed stuff.
However, he has one that has been broken for years. It's motorized and has a door on it to clear jams. That door has a safety catch that puts a break on the flywheels if opened. That door is what broke, so the safety switch that controls the motors won't disengage to allow the motors to spin. The gun is hexagonal and it was a fairly complex shape.
Anyway, I took a bunch of measurements and sat down with the cad software and reverse engineered the part. Disassembled the blaster and put it back together. My first attempt wasn't strong enough and the lip latch broke. With a 5 mins of redesign, i printed a 2nd version. Bingo. Back in business. I did have to drill out the hole for the hinge pin. But that was easier than expanding the hole in cad and reprinting.
Pretty proud of myself for being able to pull that one off.

It's this kind of stuff that makes you feel like you're a wizard. Good job.

I heard that machine was pretty good. I recently got the Elagoo Neptune 4. I'm making a war machine suit now. Taking 9 days for one piece.
