3d print modeling AI

Anybody use a 3D modeling AI program like Meshy or Tripo to do some 3d print modeling? Been doing some 3d printing for a while and using Tinkercad, haven't really played with blender or fusion much. Recently been asked about some specific prints and the potential to sell some of them. I don't want to do like some people and just download things off of makerworld and print and sell, rather put a different spin on things. Started looking into some of these 3d AI programs, and this may be the ticket. Don't want to pay for it before hearing some reviews, but may jump in for a month just to try it out if I don't get any feedback.

Fusion 360 has a free version for personal use if you are making functional things.

If you want to make more artistic stuff, I highly recommend Blender. Its free and very powerful. There are lots of good tutorials and teaching lessons on youtube as well. I learned through that and some professional 3D artists friends I made online.

I have a modelling background from waaaay back when(1999-2001) and blender isn't it for 3d printing. Gotta use the free fusion 360

lol what? Fusion sucks for artistic design. What crack pipe are you smoking? Jumping into paying for Z-Brush or Maya isn't the way to go for someone testing the waters.

I've gotten free Bambu printers from points I got from the artistic designs that I have made in Blender. I do use Fusion for functional parts like stated above. I'm not using CAD to design a themed cruise duck though.

Oh i thought we were talking about 3d printing. I could never get blender to work with my printer, shite was always off. I was printing parts and millimeters mattered. Fusion just worked.

I've used maya back when SGI owned them, but it was for games.(very shitty games)

I am talking about 3D printing, you need to read what people write slower. Millimeters don't matter for artistic designs that you 3D print. Things like tabletop minis, cruise ducks, the stupid flexi dragons, basically all the 3D printed junk that sells well.

If I am making a part or a bracket for my truck, yeah Fusion is the way to go.

All of the parts I design for 3D printing—brackets, handles, and other functional components—are designed in Fusion 360 or AutoCAD because they have to be dimensionally accurate. Everything else is usually just a random model someone sends me from MakerWorld or wherever they found it for me to print it for them..

OpenSCAD is very powerful (and free). ChatGPT makes all kinds of parametric models with that. I've used Fusion 360, but if I can provide measurements and describe the part well enough then OpenSCAD does it much quicker.

Also, for those who are trying to make something decorative, I get ChatGPT to create a high resolution graphic, use Vectorizer.ai (subscription service) to separate the jpg or png into svgs by color, and then bring those together in OpenSCAD to create separate stl files so you can assign different filaments to the parts. Works like a charm.
