2 Modem and Routers in the same house with COX

I have trouble in just one room with my WiFi signal and I'm looking at options to fix it.
Can I get a new modem and router on the same service or will it cost more? I'm curious because I'm worried about the weak signal not picking up an extender.
Any advice?
TIA

Our extender is in the middle of the house and it reaches almost to the street behind us and across the street in front. Lot is 80x120.
Eta: We had a COX technician out here this weekend to redo the wiring from the pole and he said this new panoramic Wi-Fi is supposed to fill the entire house. I'm not sure about the pricing.

The cheapest and easiest solution is probably a powerline adapter like the, Netgear Powerline 1000.

If Cox is like Comcast, you can only have one modem per account.

We just had Cox installed and have the Panoramic Wifi. It's dual band so you have a 2.4 ghz and 5.0 ghz signals. 5.0 is stronger and works throughout my house. I'm using the 2.4 for simple things such as my wireless printer and garage door opener

Panoramic Wi-Fi
Sounds like a reason for cox to up their monthly lease rate on a router just for providing current technology.

It is. I briefly looked into the Panoramic Wi-Fi and it's basically just a wireless router with a range extender in each room. That's beyond overkill and the techs have to come out to "install" it. It STARTS at $10 a month. Who knows what that includes.

Amazon
Place one in the ceiling as close to the middle of your house. Plug it into the back of your modem and disable the WiFi from your modem. It comes with a P.O.E. injector and is easy to configure. I put one in a friends 6,000+ sq/ft house and he has complete coverage.
