Bro, shouldn’t you be busy copying shite from Twitter and posting it here like you’ve watched the match?

Thankfully he does it for our benefit. If only you were so useful.

Did not think this is where the conversation would go when I originally asked the question.

Overcompensation seems to be a serial habit for you...

And for the record, Dike looked really fricking good this last camp when he played at the 9.

I'm beginning to wonder if you watch matches at all or if you're just mildly retarded here lately.

It's a battle already in my eyes. Based on form alone, Dike gets the nod for me.

Having said that, Josh is a damn strong option too.

It’s really close for me. I like Josh better in possession but Dike better against a team where we may be playing more defensively. They’ve both looked good in the recent friendlies. Shame Dike got a knock before the Jamaica game, I would have liked to have seen more of him.

I like Sargent against teams where we have to play more defensively because he's a better passer, and in games that are fairly back and forth. Give me Dike against a more physical, park-the-bus CONCACAF team. Let him knock those defenders around and get on the end of everything we send into the box.

Preach. It's actually really damn helpful that we have both of those guys. I hope we see them both play during the qualifiers later this year.

Bruh, only point I’m trying to make here is it seems that people are satisfied with Greg’s management style and I have major issues with him. Has he been doing well lately, yes. Have the opponents been less than stellar, yes. I just see a lot of people (especially the 2 Greg apologist) being cheerleaders instead of questioning our US federation. I’ve been watching the US play for over 30 years and I’m tired of seeing the same mistakes made over and over because those people are not held accountable.

I am. His "management style" has us playing well even when we have to play our C team and has dual nationals flocking to us partly due to the environment that he is helping to create. Have we been playing great teams lately? No, but that's not really Gregg's fault. Quick thinking by the federation also got Dike eligible to move to Barnsley in the first place.

I would argue we use Sargent more against those teams for link up play in the final third. Dike can be used against a Mexico where we can’t build out the back and have to lump it forward to him

Either way, it’s nice to have a plan B which he gives us

You're preaching to the choir with that, but holy hell if you aren't being a little bit of a bitch in giving that opinion.

And it is well-established that a few posters are more pro-USSF/MLS while the majority are not. It's America. We're all free to have opinions, even if they are wrong.

Also, what set you off was confusing, and disrespecting the efforts pvilleguru makes on this board is way the frick out of line if you ask me.

I take issue with things he says like anyone else, but I don't see anyone else putting in the effort he does here.

Fair points, but we are pretty fun to watch these days. Maybe it’s our player pool but I think you have to give Gregg a little credit.

I do find it funny how for years people have begged for us to try to play a more possession oriented style and now that we are trying to do that, with the growing pains associated with it, suddenly those same people want us to be a counter attacking team. How about we be prepared to do both?

What mistakes specifically bother you? I’ll give it to you that the lack of an open and robust coaching search has been frustrating, but I feel like people here hold that against Gregg when that’s not really on him. I wish they had given someone better than Jason Kreis control of the U23 team. I’ve been disappointed in the recent elections where Cordeiro was chosen. I wanted to see a more progressive leader like Kyle Martino rather than a rehash of Sunil Gulati. But our recent recruitment of dual nationals has been about as good as we could have hoped for. The last one we freaked out about losing, Jonathan Gonzales, wouldn’t even sniff our B team bench at this point.

That probably sums it up.

The USSF has a habit of making messes out of decent situations.

Fair enough. I’m making my feelings known as when it is inevitable I will say “I told you so” and get blasted for being “captain obvious”. If Gregg improves and his management skills win us matches against even opponents or better, I’ll gladly come here and eat a large plate of crow.

As for homeboy you think I’m disrespecting, sorry but not sorry. It kinda sucks he’s a Liverpool fan because it makes us look a little uneducated about the sport from the post he makes here, imo. Just being honest

Yeah, I mean USSF isn’t spectacular but they have gotten a good bit right lately. Seeing how they helped Dike get the move to Barnsley was pretty forward thinking and encouraging to see. But gd if you say the olympics is a priority fricking act like it and get a coach who knows how to put together a roster.

This is not some royal fraternity you have to protect.

You sound like a self-righteous prick... If you believe in what you just threw out there against him, maybe check yourself.
