I saw the pic of that seam by one of that goals.. That would border on criminal for allowing play on that

I found it funny that our women's team was one of the most vocal groups against playing on turf in the WC. Now, with plenty of time to prepare, they are cancelling a game because the field is shite.

Plastic pitch =/= turf
Ive played on shite like this. You can't even wear cleats on it.
The WC pitches were plastic with longer fake grass like they use in the NFL and College.

My point remains valid. They complained about the field conditions, and then they select a field with that apparently no one even looked into. It's a clusterfrick that I found humorous.

IMO, there's a difference between a friendly and the pinnacle of women's soccer... Everyone realizes that the occasional match on an artificial surface is necessary..
That said, I read where the USMNT has someone go and inspect the pitch a month before the match... They should have known well in advance of what they were getting into..

Ideally no, but we even have MLS teams that play on artificial surfaces in this country...
But there needs to be a minimum standard... That field should have never even been under consideration

I don't mean to sound like a soccer snob but I F'n hate when we play on artificial turf here.
