Where will history rank this World Cup?

Is this the most star power ever in a World Cup?
You have the older generation of legends, including Ronaldo, De Bruyne, Messi, Neymar, and Modric, who are likely playing in their final World Cup.
Then there are established stars such as Mbappé, Dembélé, Hakimi, and Kane, who have been among the world’s best for nearly a decade and are still in or around their prime.
Finally, there is the younger generation, including Bellingham, Haaland, and Yamal, who are now household names on the world stage and could define the next era of international soccer.

Every World Cup has star power, it's impossible not to.
What makes this one different is that you have so many of those stars performing at impressive levels.
This is one of the more compelling Golden Boot races in quite some time.

My personal history? Nice being in our own timezones, 9PM starts were a bit rough though.
The US having actual momentum before shitting down their own legs, finally feeling like there wasn't just a slim chance to make a deep run there was an expectation.
The VAR referee crews being more influential than anyone on the field, including the head ref.
The Golden Boot race being like McGuire and Sosa, but with 5 people.
Some outstanding goalkeeping performances, Vozinha with Cape Verde, Pickford in Azteca, Nyland against Brazil

It’s been impressively competitive
On the other side of the coin I don’t recall being able to write off so many traditional powers as critically flawed early, and it manifest as anticipated. Only 1 of these 6 made it to the quarterfinals. That’s nuts

Throw in Olise to that younger group. He might be the best player in the world right now. Had a bit of an off game vs Morocco but he is France’s engine.

The “plug and play” aspect of American stadiums shocked everyone. Fans and press alike were overwhelmed by the high standard set by the NFL.
