Where do you rank this guy in terms of USA soccer history?

Only US player to play in 4 World Cups and after a rough game against Ghana, he has been very solid in these last 2 matches, particularly today despite getting no help whatsoever from Brad Davis.

Good thread. Probably an under-appreciated player in terms if his USMNT legacy. I would agree a top 10 player who has always made the most of his chances at the international level.

It's interesting to rank Run DMB because his national team history is full of weird lapses caused by injury, lack of club minutes or just lousy form.
After the 2009 Confederations Cup, I thought his national team career was finished because he couldn't play leftback or provide much threat on the wing. Then he had a decent spell of form for Rangers and made the 2010 World Cup squad.
He did nothing at Hanover and went down to Puebla in Mexico to finish up his career. Then he starts playing wingback when Fabian Johnson bust onto the USMNT scene. This allowed Klinsmann to tinker with Johnson on the wing and now at rightback, because DaMarcus could marshall in at leftback.
He's nothing special defensively, but has learned the position well enough to allow our best defender to play at his natural position.

Hes been fantastic and has adapted to things better than anyone else on our team. Changed positions and became a full time left back. And at an older age. It took him some time to get used to that spot, as it would anyone, but now that hes got it down hes been excellent.

He's been very solid.
He looks 53 years old in the face and he has run his arse off for 270+ minutes.
Someone posted last week that he looks like he should be sitting on a lawn chair with a paperbagged 40 oz. and I can't get that image out of my head now.

I'm trying to think if he is in our top 10 position players.
Dempsey, Donovan, Bradley, Reyna, Pope, and McBride are all ahead of him, and I'd be shocked if anyone disagrees. I'd also put Stewart, Harkes, and Wynalda above him as well. He's fighting guys like Lalas, Balboa, and Hedjuk for the 10th spot. Definitely didn't think I'd be saying that five years ago.

If you're putting Hedjuk there then I don't see how you can't put Cherundolo. I personally rate Dolo as a top ten American player.

Sure, Cherundolo, too. I might have missed a few others. Already I'm thinking Ramos is better than Beasley and I totally forgot about him.
