He is, and he's probably a good guy like Hat said, but he is still a fricking idiot on the pitch. It seems like every time he takes a step forward in play, he takes 2 steps back by saying or doing something really stupid (not talking about off the field nonsense - talking about things like arguing with the manager, arguing with other players, saying dumb things on the pitch, etc).

I know a couple of guys who hang out with Balo and apparently he is a great guy..and obivously a cracking laugh, havent yet been introduced yet
I did wonder if he'd heard abuse from some of the crowd but i figure we would have heard about that by now

Were there any racist chants during the game? There hasn't been a lot of racial abuse so far, at least that I have heard or read about. But England-Ukraine in an elimination game has been marked on my calendar since the start of the tournament.
Every time he has played. Croatia is being investigated right now. Embarrassing for UEFA IMO.
MLS needs to start advertising in Africa.

Really? I know that the Croatian fans were investigated for insults against Balotelli and the Russians were fined for their fans' behavior against the Czech player whose dad is Ethiopian (although I think the majority of the fine was due to their fans beating up security guards), but if black players are being singled out, I think it's been way more subtle than the loud monkey noises you hear in Eastern European league games.
I think the main reason is because the hooligans are priced out of these international games.

The only thing I have noticed in the few games I caught was the whistling. When France played Ukraine every time Nasri and Malouda touched the ball is was noticeably louder.

Considering what could be happening this tournament is FAR from an embarrassment for UEFA.
Not sure what your MLS comment is about, but it seems dumb.

fining and investigating 2 of your 16 teams for racism is a bit embarrassing..
Also he's saying that the MLS needs to advertise in a country thats full of people that could be turned off by the racism of European leagues.
Far fetched, but funny.

Considering the history of the host countries, this tournament could be much worse.
And LOL at the notion that anyone outside of the US would watch MLS.

There's always next year. But I know Manchester United won't have to wait 44 years for our next title.
