Leeds = 1995-97

Feels like Garry Monk is starting to BRING BACK THE MAGIC. I will however continue to root for dropped points in order to preserve tGOATpionship status. Chris Wood = Kevin Faulk. Pablo Hernandez = "Smokin" Herb Tyler. Pontus Jansson = Booger McFarland.

Everton is probably like the 2004-06 era. Won't win a title (2006 LSU team ) but will win a lot of other games and hopefully scoop some bcs hardware (cup final)

2003.

The best coach in the sport has had time to install his system and mentality, get some of his players on the field, and now Liverpool is just obliterating the opposition. Championship is imminent. We are Saban LSU

To be fair, 2008 Alabama might be a better comparison considering that was Saban's second year and this is Klopps second year, and Klopp is about to lead Liverpool into an unprecedented decade of domination that the sport has never seen

I fear going to Anfield may be this Leeds team's 1996 Florida moment. Im allowed to pull for wins in cup competitions.

Well, we are in the midst of one of the stronger 5 or 6 year runs in our history but have had the misfortune of a blue blood from the north picking the same period to establish a dynasty without historical precedent in the league.

We recently fired a coach who was our all time leader in winning percentage. Fans are happy though since his sluggish offense and inability to recover the team mentally from big losses was growing old.

We replaced him with a local hero that the fans love and the team is playing with a lot more energy and more exciting attacking style. It has most of us feeling fairly optimistic even though the power to the north is still just as good and even has two stars that really should be playing for us.

I really can't find many similarities. . .

I would've said 2000. Nick Saban just came off his first year showing signs of promise but also some frustrating losses against some smaller sides. Rolling into the next year, things really started to click leading to a sugar bowl win. Long way to go in the season, but I see this as just the beginning.

2000.

99 LSU would have been relegated & Rafa taking us to the promised land.

Tottenham = the last 3 years.

Look strong on paper from the start but manage to screw it up, but still save face in the end.

ETA: The last game of the year against Newcastle never happened. It is an urban legend.

Save face or face-plant?

Save face in regards to what was reasonably expected in the beginning.

As in LSU could finish with a Sugar Bowl this year and Spurs could finish top 3 and everyone would be reasonably happy with the outcome.
