Came off of Milner. Not sure what the hell the offsides rule is these days in regards to deflections.

Deflections don't matter for offsides - it's about who has control/possession. Milner never had possession there so his touch doesn't keep the Everton player onsides

I think the wording is "deliberate attempt to play the ball". So control/possession isn't crucial. I need to check the actual wording of the law though.
