I became a Leeds fan when we were in the old Second Division and have been one ever since never faltering in my allegiance. I did go to Anfield several times when I lived in England but that was to watch the greatest club in the world at that time. I never became a Bindippers fan. I'll be a Leeds fan til I die which is imminent if we spend one more fricking season in the Championship. MOT....LUSC!!!!

It's still a bandwagon since you have no ties to them beyond just liking them.

Technically, every pure blooded American that follows the EPL is a "bandwagon" fan by definition.

im an arsenal fan from when a manchester team was still winning titles. Man u is the only club i have mad respect for.

everyone can be considered a bandwagon fan i get this. i grew up in atlanta, but am a saints fan. so i am a bandwagon fan by definition, but why would i bandwagon one of the worst nfl franchises?

Liverpool fan after deliberating through several clubs...I settled on a club with a good sense of history so of course there is a semblance of bandwagoning. But, the thing was that when I sat down and watched a Liverpool match it felt right. It's the same way I feel with American Football and the New Orleans Saints. And with any shred of honesty, those are the only two sports teams I can TRULY say I am a fan of, without doubt.

Liverpool fan. Have to say I was blind when I started following them though. Literally didn't have the slightest idea of their history.

You probably have a purer heart for the club than I do, then.

Also lame when you claim to be an avid fan of two teams in the same division, without a pretty compelling reason.

I attended (and grew up on) LSU, and am getting a graduate degree from Mississippi State, so I feel justified in calling myself a fan of both schools.

But, "I like Newcastle and Man City both, because I like the way they play"?

frick that noise.

the point is, every year new fans hop on the epl. Whoever is at the top in that given season, is where a lot of the new fans flock to. this happens in a lot of sports.

Ive been following european soccer since 97. so i can call people bandwagon fans.

It definitely puts the club in a different light. Realizing how middle of da mall the squad has been the past few seasons before realizing they are one of the most prestigious clubs in the world was pretty weird.

I knew Liverpool had success in European competitions, but whether it was my deciding factor, I can't say for sure. I do know how surreal it is to realize the 4 or so years ago this team featured Torres, Gerrard, Alonzo, Mascherano (sp?) is pretty crazy considering its now a club of Carroll, Gerrard, Downing and Henderson and the like.

Maybe LFC's time as the elite has passed with the emergence of City, but I'm not leaving. Watching this club and suffering with them a bit has given me an appreciation for it. I can say that I love the club.

Meh. I am an LSU fan but I pull for State when they aren't playing LSU or Southern Miss. I have a few close friends who went to State so I just kinda hopped on. If they ever become a threat to LSU, that may change things.
