Well, unfortunately Yedlin won't be available for us these two games. Nothing can change that.

No shite, sherlock, that was my point.

Zusi has been the better US player

As a right back?

Go back and watch the last two games Timmy played for us v. Mexico & @ Costa Rica, Timmy was literally the only player on the backline in both matches that looked halfway decent.

Against Costa Rica, surprisingly, he looked like the only one on the backline who gave a frick... maybe he really loved Jurgy, idk.

Chandler has been an enigma for both club and country ever since he came on for Dolo and looked like a god damn wizard at RB in a friendly against Argentina, but this past year he has been in good form and he should be our 2nd choice right back and I think Bruce is making a mistake by holding Zusi and even Lichaj over him.

Well, that's a sad situation, but he has no one to blame but himself if his US career ends early. He should have performed more consistently and given more effort when he had the opportunity. He's like the player who cries wolf.

Countless times we see him play great in the Bundesliga, only to call him up and watch him play like he doesn't give a shite about representing the US. You can't do that and expect call-ups, doesn't matter how talented a player might be.

I hope he gets another chance and actually establishes himself as someone we can count on. But I doubt it. On the whole, he hasn't earned that trust, and I'm not surprised he's been passed up.

Roldan just scored. Scrappiest, ugliest goal you've ever seen in your life.

You literally just said you're ok with his US career being over.

And I just told you that he was the only one who gave a frick on the backline in the last match he played for the US.

I'm fine with him getting a chance if he's ready to play like he actually cares. He hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt in that regard.

One or two performances isn't enough to changes a lot of people's minds, and apparently Arena is one of those people. More often than not, we give him a chance, and he plays like a shell of his Bundesliga self.

It is funny to me that you value the sanctity of message board posting though.

You do it all the time to anyone that has a different opinion with you here on the soccer board.

Name calling..."you don't understand the sport" replies ..etc etc.

You're everything that's wrong with the hard core American "football" fan.

It's a little sad man. You should welcome people and discourse into the fold instead of being the giant douche you are set on being.

When it's as stupid as "Cuba went to the World Cup in 1938" to rationalize Wondo scoring goals against a legit opponent, yeah I will call that out.

so that;s where you're taking this.. You're just angry I was right about ya boy Jurgen all along.

Yet here you are blaming me for what's wrong with soccer in this country. Yeah, i'm sad.

ETA: And I have never EVER argued anything by simply saying "you don't understand the game", that's a straight up insult to me and everyone on this board.

In this thread I have constantly made points and counterpoints as to why I THINK he is wrong. If you can't handle a differing opinion, fine, don't argue it.

Like I said earlier, I was more than cordial before it became obvious that his side of the argument was going off the deep end.

We finally have purged beckerdreads, and I thought wondolowski...but NOOOOO...he's back. Still entirely too much mls on this roster. The day that wondo, zardes, zusi, besler etc are a thing of the past can't come soon enough.

Regardless, we need MLS stability in the roster to have a good USMNT... just need MLS to get better and it is, just a slow process.

Wondo is definitely #5, at best, in the forward pool right now, but to be fair to the guy, he's on better form than Dwyer right now, so I'm not surprised he got called up.

And I rate Besler pretty highly. Don't be surprised if he's on the roster in Russia. CCV, Miazga, and EPB haven't exactly done much to take his spot yet. Maybe one of them will soon, but Besler is a known commodity. Big part of SKC's great defense this season.

No one is really thinking of those 3.

Right. But they are (hopefully) the future. We need them to step up in the next cycle. In 2022, Gonzo will be 32, Cameron would be 36, Ream will be 33, Besler will be 34.

We're gonna need some young CBs to take their place in the next few years. Those guys look to be the most likely right now.
