Is this a shtick like sir Winston or can you really not have a civil debate with someone you disagree with?

Last season they had a -8 goal differential and would have finished in 17th place without the points deductions. That doesn’t seem great. What do you like about his coaching style and how do you see him fitting in at DCU? What formation will they run?

Their squad was basically scrap heap football league veterans and youngsters. Think he squeezed a lot out of what he had to work with and their young players got better

Thanks for proving my point that you really didn’t know what was going on. They had a 21 point deduction with a depleted squad playing youngsters

With out that they would have had 55 points and would have been totally fine

He also helped save them from going down the season before

He’s proven he can get results while basically given nothing, no one expected Derby to even come close to staying up last year.

I told you to stop while you were ahead

As a DC fan, my only concern is Rooney is viewing this as a 6 month type job before he can jump to premier league and save a team from going down.

That sounds pretty decent given the circumstances. Honestly hoping he succeeds. It’s cool to see euro coaches use good MLS experience as a kick start to a good job at the next level, ie Vieira to crystal palace. Only serves to drive more interest into soccer in America.

I think his experience playing in the league will be very helpful

He knows it’s a high tempo league and he had his Derby side play very intense like he did.

Now will the ownership invest in the squad to improve it, is the big question.

They have been basically absent the last couple years. They don’t spend and it shows. This franchise would be relegated in a regular league but there isn’t and negative effects for being a shite owner in MLS.

Thanks for Paul Arriola btw. He’s been really solid for FC Dallas.
