Anyone see that match yesterday v chelsea? Incredible chemistry on that team imo. Very skilled, and made chelsea look like they didnt belong on the same field.

Love the Ukranian League! I have an exam today so I studied all day yesterday except to watch the Barca match. I'm gonna watch the replay tonight.

yep, and I was rooting for Chelsea.
Shakhtar has like 9 Brazilians on the roster

A lot of CL experience all over that team. They know exactly what it takes to win on this stage, regardless of the opponent.

yeah, they made that nice run two years ago, but eventually came up against Barca... They have a ton of Brazilians and we barely got to see Douglas Costa... Srna is very goo, too...
The game yesterday was wide open, fun to watch....

I came to say this. I remember watching a program about them last season, all brazilians.
yes, they're a damn good team.

I only got to actually watch the 2nd half since I couldn't find a decent feed. They were good in the 2nd half and it was pretty even. Just from watching Gamecast it seemed like they definitely were giving Chelsea fits in the first half. Hopefully they don't play that well on the road. We pretty much have to win the return match in a couple of weeks or we are in BIG trouble.

they were definitely peppering Cech, where as Chelsea's shots on goal were pretty much routine saves...

I was watching on a less than stellar feed so maybe I'm wrong but in the 2nd half I can't remember any save Cech had to make that wasn't fairly routine.
Also, if I'm not mistaken the shots in the 1st half were like 15-3. Which would mean in the second half Chelsea out shot them 12-8, had a m. They also had more possession. Shahktar definitely were the better team on the day but like I said, I thought the 2nd half was pretty even.
Not that it matters we still lost and better get them figured out in the next two weeks before they come to The Bridge.

Shaktar is really a quality team. . .
They absolutely dominate the Ukranian league. I think they're 12-0-0 so far this year.
Aside from all the impressive young Brazilian players like Willian, Alex Teixeira, Fernandinho etc the one player that's extremely impressive is the Armenian attacking midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
In a bigger league or playing for a high profile national team he'd be a household name.

Yeah, maybe he'd have to do the Brazilian thing and go with Henrik-inho.

Just shorten his last name a bit, make a nickname out of it and move to the bundesliga, he'd be fine.

Lucescu is one of the best coaches in the world, and if he didn't have serious heart problems, he would be coaching a side like Chelsea or Barca or City.

Jonathan Wilson wrote an entire article on Mkhitaryan a couple of a days ago (sometime before today). Of course, that area of the world is Wilson's specialty.
I will sit in ignorance and continue to call Shakhtar Donetsk Reptar Donetsk. It's easier to spell one difficult word.
