I can't see any bars offering big discounts to AO members until more than a handful show up to watch matches and none will offer us TVs if some major NF, NBA game is on other than The Londoner. Maybe if some of the AO members would show up to The Londoner we could try and negotiate some better drink specials.
Where are all of these people watching? Whats the point of signing up if you aren't going to go? I just don't get it. I'd kill for an AO chapter over here.

Transfer to Nola. You have a bar at the ready full of people who will pack it every single time.

1. Publicize the matches very well.
2. Make sure that your members like the place.
3. Make sure the place opens early enough in the morning for your members to watch their club teams or other nations. If they have to change bars, they'll stay at the first.
I know that the Londoner doesn't do the third.

That's a good question. My gut is that most are watching the game at home. It's possible some have gone to Pluckers to tray and watch the games. Many people said that they would go if we watched at Pluckers. The one time I went there were 5 of us (not counting wives and children).

The Londoner HAS opened early in recent months for EPL matches. But I really don't see what that has to do with prime time US matches and the poor turn out. I'm not innocent. I've missed several mid-week matches because I was just getting off of work and wanted to go home to rest. However, the several times I've been to The Londoner, the turnout just wasn't very big. We're hoping that was partially attributed to those games just being friendlies with no international significance.

My friends in BR told me that they didn't open early for the 3rd OF match

1. LINK
2. If there's a bar that is more dedicated to soccer, the people will go there.

Well it sounds to me like a lot of people have gone there in the past and given them a chance. It's their fault that the vast majority of people prefer not to return IMO.
This. I don't go back anymore because:
1. It's far.
2. I can't get anyone to go with me because of 1.
3. The drinks are expensive.
4. I'm living in France right now.
I liked pluckers simply because it was closer to LSU and a much easier drive for LSU students.

I've normally watched with a case of Sam Adams in my house. Have a bunch of friends over to do it. I wanted to support AO so I joined. I didn't really join for the perks, but for the cause.

The Londoner is the only place in BR that does that. I tried to get The Bulldog to open early for World Cup 2010 and they refused. Pluckers is cool, but I'm not sure they'd be able to show soccer games if any LSU sporting event was on tv.

2. Make sure that your members like the place.
