I haven't gotten to say DUKE SUCKS in so long. So thanks for that.

Congrats on the kid! He'll change your life for the better, even if it's great now.

Can't think of a better role model for a child in the world of sports, but he'd have some big shoes to fill. Why not name him Thomas instead?

In all seriousness, which players have been blackballed by Bradley, not because of injuries or just being bad, but because of personal issues? Anyone besides Bobby Convey?

And who do you think will never get a look again, after being one of Bob's favorites? Bornstein is the obvious choice, but Robbie Rogers is another guy who I doubt gets called up.

Yeah, he will be our 2nd. No doubt my little girl is going to be a runner and/or soccer player.

OH, and to keep this thread on track...US will beat Mesico.

We talked about that a bit yesterday. Jose Torres may get more consideration now. IIRC though, he hasn't really been tearing up the Mexican league lately.

Obviously not one of Bob's favorites, but I guess we can assume that Findley is done as a USMNTr.

I don't think Bob hates Torres. He doesn't know what to do with him necessarily, but he hasn't helped himself out recently.

Good call on Findley. I didn't mean to restrict the list to favorites (and Bornstein definitely is one). Just guys who will likely never be looked at by new coaches.

It's always interesting to see which peripheral guys coaches like.

Mix, Torres, Convey, and maybe some U-18(20?) guys like Gyau, I would hope. And that guy from Norwich City.

Torres had plenty of opportunities. He's had 11 caps in 2.5 years, just a few less than Edu.

He just never did much with them.

Of course, poor performance never stopped Bornstein from getting called in, but there's also a considerable difference in CM depth and LB depth.

I agree with you about Torres and Bornstein, although Bradley's stubborn behavior with Convey was frustrating.

Cwill, are you referring to Zack Whitbread? Don't know much about him, but I have seen him mentioned on Big Soccer before.

To be fair, it seems that EVERYBODY thinks Convey is a douchebag, apparently. If you watch the way he behaves in San Jose's games, he comes off as a first rate a-hole.

I'm sure Big Soccer imploded yesterday.

Those circle jerkers are 90% of the problem with the fan base. They latch on to some guy in some far away league, proclaim him as the next savior and whip themselves into a fury over nothing.

He was fantastic against Turkey.

The difference is I think Torres has more potential. He hasn't always played the best, but I think he has a much higher ceiling.

Mix Diskerud, LINK, 20-year old half-Norwegian central mid.

Bradley could have cap-tied him during the Gold Cup, and I'm still not sure why he didn't.

Sheep, I really hate Big Soccer. I used to post a ton on another forum (with a far more diverse group of posters than just Americans), and some of them came over to try to do a forum invasion like they were in the fricking NWO or something.

And I think you're right that they build up a guy after one or two decent outings. Consistency is the key, and obviously most 19-year olds aren't going to be consistent.

I think you are being overly critical of Klinsmann though. He has had some struggles, but if you look at the resumes of Arena or Bradley with an equally critical eye, I highly doubt you would like them very much, either.

And Bradley does get a bad rap from fans because blaming a coach is an easy way to express frustration, but his decisions in the World Cup (Ricardo Clark especially) didn't help to buy him favors. Same with how we continued to give up goals from diagonal passes on counter-attacks all the time.

Keys, I was referring to Whitbread. I heard he would have made the last camp before the Gold Cup because he had been playing so well but right before camp he injured his foot. Then Bradley didn't call him up for the GC because he hadn't gotten a chance to mesh with the first team. Might of well have called him up anyway- it's not like Gooch played.
