Whoever comes out of group B in 3rd place IMO. They're stronger than the group A teams and I think they'll win the fourth round.
If I had to guess I'd say that Japan wins round 4 and they'll play the our regional playoff team (which I don't think will be us, unless we look like shite in Costa Rica)

yeah but if we come away with a point and (Heaven forbid) decent tactics without playing anyone out of position I'll have hope that we can make it into the WC without a playoff

Eh, I'm not using historical performance as an indicator when we play there so infrequently and the teams that play vary so much between each encounter.

True dat. But it does tell you that despite all the advantages the US has, we've still found it hard to win over there. As is the case most of the time in high level sports, circumstances are everything. Hostile crowds, prior results, shite concacaf refereeing, iffy playing surfaces. We need a win this go round. A draw at the least.
