Garnacho is the bust of the season. Get him off the field.
Just not seeing any degree of "Wow" from him. To a lesser degree, I feel the same way about Neto. Sure,Garnacho consistently takes on defenders 1v1. But once he nears the End Line, he seems not to have the 'decisive move(s)" to either get into position to score or make the key assist.

Big fan of Moises but he's got to be smarter

Long throwins are our kryptonite.
Keep feeding the fricking ball to 41. He makes things happen.

I truly don’t know what some people see in Enzo, if you’re slow you better have great dribbling in tight spaces talent, if you don’t have that you better have a great finish, he has none of those

Assuming we don't blunder our way into a late winner here, 13 points dropped at home from winning positions this season. Unbelievable

Yes that’s fricking terrible. Bad defending which has been our issue for the last few seasons since Silva left. Please bring back Rudi.

I am sort of surprised at how bad Garnacho’s playmaking and decision making are
I don’t see it.

I thought he was a better passer than he has shown so far
Outside of one match, where he took a couple of ill advised shots…I don’t see it.
quote:
instead of palmer being on the right and cutting across the full width of the goal, he is already in the middle and cuts across half the goal. which generally results in palmer passing it to Garnacho or an inverted Cucu
I mean, outside of a couple of matches, he was pretty ineffective out right. What you are seeing is the lack of service from the forward. I mentioned repeatedly how often he played off of Jackson. They had great chemistry. That develops over time. He is not on the same page as Delap and JP…yet. Delap was hurt / suspended. Then CP got hurt. I believe that it has majorly slowed development.

its like CFC concede Palmer attacking touches to get Garnacho more touches
He is open.
quote:
the defense is more than happy to oblige creating a bottleneck in the left corner
It reduces the frame mouth of the goal, so yes…they would rather the ball go wide instead of up the middle. The ONLY ways to break the low block are to dribble through it, combo pass through it, go out wide and “spin” the defenders with a cross, or…go out wide and reset the attack by working the ball back across looking for opportunities. The latter is what has been done. Right back is typically the much stronger side. It’s why Neto has more service from the right. Legitimate left backs are hard to come by. Cash is a legitimate right back, hence the limited service. Again…who are we going to play there? Neto’s play drops off. Gittens has not transitioned to the EPL level. Simons has been shot (thank God that we didn’t sign him).
We are where we are.
Garnacho is just a convenient scapegoat imho (much like Mudryk and Jackson before him).

I would rather have Silva.
Rudi looks like shite.

Meh, he is the distributor. Goals from him are a bonus (including the one that he scored today).

I hate delap
I don’t mind him. But he isn’t ready to carry the load. We need a seasoned striker up top. You are spot on when saying that forward and center back are must gets.

Randy nailed it, the opponents want CFC to keep going down the left to Garnacho so they funnel everything that way and CFC are happy to oblige
we are what we are is right
no forward, mid CBs make a bad mix

Here is what I can’t understand: Delap carried the load just fine at Ipswich with much less support. Why has he regressed this year with what should be an easier job? I will give him some slack because of his time away, but he should have been doing much better yesterday.
I also don’t understand all these drastic lineup changes. Rest Cuch or James, but not both at the same time.
I think it is clear that CFC is more dangerous with Estevao and Neto on the wings. They should get the most playing time.

He was never good. Had more yellows than goals even at his best.

Injuries and suspensions has made chemistry tough.

Agreed.
Throw in dumb decisions like Acheampong being out wide (he is a center back), playing Gusto at left CB (he doesn’t play well there). Or…playing Tosin (ever).
It may cost Maresca his job.
Then again, he has wanted a striker and quality center back from day one, and the sporting directors have yet to deliver.
I would imagine that he is frustrated.
Then again, if he gets canned (or is allowed to leave), then he will probably be at Man City next year.
Perhaps that is why he refused to visit the press after the match against Bournemouth.
Crazy times.

In his 4 year prime Costa scored 79 goals, got 33 yellow cards, and 0 reds.

That last stat is amazing.
FWIW, Costa was older and more experienced in his prime. Unfortunately for Chelsea, Delap is still in the FO phase.
