Maresca is “tinkering 2,” but may actually be worse.
His back line (ESPECIALLY his center backs) lack cohesion.
Much like an O line in football, the back line should act as a unit.
Moving these guys everywhere is dumb on his part.
Lastly, playing Gittens out of position for a full match makes no sense, especially when you have an 18 year old wonder kid sitting on the bench.
It was a very poor performance by the manager.
However, he too is learning on the fly.
These growing pains suck.

Didn't get to watch this morning but just watched the highlights, shamefully poor in the final third. Garnacho was Man Utd Garnacho selfishly wasting several golden opportunities but he wasn't alone. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers so good to get a win again finally.

3 points are 3 points. Moving on.

Cole scored. Sanchez was solid. Back in the win column without Ciacedo. I’ll take it.
Nacho is a miss.
Nacho is a miss.

Hopefully caicedo coming back can right the ship, such a gay win for arsenal today

He definitely could have (and should have) passed it off a couple of times. However, he put himself in excellent position. The other times, he should have a green light. It was poor finishing by him, but he had the ability to put some goals away.
Chalobah was my man of the match. As poorly as he has been treated by Chelsea, he never complains, and works his arse off. In short, an excellent professional. We need Collwill back, but Chalobah has played fairly well for a reserve.

Today he was.
I am more than willing to be patient with him though.
This team (including him) is still VERY young.
I’m still bullish on the Blues.

Let’s see if we can muster up the interest to beat Cardiff. They’re at the top of League One and will be geeked up at home for this one. Can Chelsea’s second team prevail?

no Estevao today, perhaps he starts on saturday vs the Magpies?

Gittens trying to give Delap a run for his money for biggest waste of money so far. He blows

Of course we give up the equalizer off a corner

Neto! Now can we hold a lead

Nacho with the brace! Give the lad time he’s a good one.
To the semi’s we go. Sluggish match but give the boys credit for taking care of business.

He has potential. Randy is right, he needs to be smarter with the ball. That being said, when he is in a position to score, he needs to shoot. It’s hard to score if you don’t shoot. Today, his persistence paid off. Scoring at that angle was top shelf stuff.

They did enough to get the job done today. I’m good with it.

Reading a lot of shite this morning that Maresca might be on his way out? That the Board isn’t happy with him? Is this some kind of bullshite English tabloid fodder or is there some truth? Said he’s City’s #1 candidate to take over for Pep this summer but getting linked to other jobs right now. wtf?

It’s all based on some post match comments that he won’t retract.
He is under contract for 5 years.
That being said…who knows.

I know Roman was always quick to pull the plug on managers, but these guys seem like they don’t know the game. Youngest team in the PL, already winner of two cups, and currently top 4 and they’re upset at some off the cuff comments he made? He’s been good- his rotations are sometimes questionable but we’re in three competitions and he’s got to rest starters at some point. Go get him a CB and striker.
