does he start?

at what position?

he looks like a lumbering destructor to me.

Jones starts in the center of midfield (assuming he's not suspended, which happens a lot).

Jones plays with a lot of good midfielders. He's a very solid guy at breaking up possession and providing an option for Draxler, Farfan, whomever else is playing attacking mid.

Depending on how severe MB's injury is we need him against Mexico. If he can't go I want Sacha and mix called in immediately. Also I want bacon starting up top. He's the most creative attacker we have after Jozy.

He should start vs Mexico, if MB can't go. He seems to be a better distributor than anyone else we have that could play back there.

We should have never subbed off both Fab and Zusi, and both should start vs Mexico. They were 2 of the better players tonight, Fab was a thread on goal a couple times and Zusi set him up well when he drew the PK, and he also had some other nice crosses.

Things we established from this game:

-Cameron is average at best in midfield.

-Beasely cannot cut it as a LB against upper tier competition.

-Zusi and Fab are 2 of our most lethal distributors.

I miss anything?

Donovan is still our biggest playmaker on the ball.

Michael Bradley is BY FAR the most valuable player on the team.

The sky is not falling.

Yeah, it's that Jones is highly overrated by this board. He was dependably abysmal in the first half, but did make some decent plays in the second. However, our midfield absolutely got bossed around in this game, which is something he is purportedly there to prevent.

The lack of Bradley also hurt tremendously.

And Parkview sucks.

he's the glue of the entire midfield. He's our Pirlo.

they had a rough one tonight, played like shite. Catholic was ready to play though, hats off to them, they were the better team tonight. Can't make the mistakes PBS made tonight and expect to win against a good fb team.. sound familiar (USMNT)

Does he ever try back heeled square balls or try to sombrero someone in traffic with Schalke?

I might have screwed things up. I've had the dog sitting next to me during the games since the win streak started. Didn't have him tonight since I was at the bar. The boss will be back Tuesday

I actually thought that Cameron was pretty damned good, aside from a couple of errant passes, and I think those may have as much to do with the shitty Chinese built pitch as anything.

His 40 yard, outside of the foot switch to Beasley was something very few Americans would attempt, much less successfully execute.

And he can cover some damned ground.

i didn't mind cameron or jones. they are what they are. the issue was not having baby bradley, who would have made either look at lot better. having both of them playing defensive/distributing mid, on very short notice, just fricked everything up

we have to play mix against mexico OR super bunker

I thought that Cameron was really solid in the second half but pretty putrid in the first.

Regardless, the midfield played better than it did the last time we were in Costa Rica

True, Cameron and Jones is just too rigid.
Mix and Jones would work imo. Let Mix link between Jones and our no. 10 in the hole.
The last thing we need to do is freaking bunker vs Mexico at home in Columbus.. We better come out guns a blazing like the Ticos did last night.

Jones is overrated by this board and Cameron is underrated.

Cameron looked like our most poised player with the ball last night.

Jones, on the other hand, dithered and killed so many movements that I was literally yelling at the screen, "WHAT THE frick, I THOUGHT YOU WERE CL QUALITY." Seriously, it's like he has no idea how to execute a 1-2 pass.

And Eddie Johnson... don't get me started. He killed everything that goes to him. I hope he doesn't make the trip to Brazil.

Zusi - while his distribution is good, he got torched up and down the pitch all night. Bedoya should have started and I hope he does against Mexico.
