Bradley pushed himself into that terrible spot with a huge negative touch when he had space to move forward. Nagbe was doing well to play to feet and move into space in productive positions. Bradley got scared, retreated, dawdled on the ball, then played a dumb pass to an inexperienced center back who shite the bed
I like Bradley. I watched a lot of his games for Roma. He chased the money and the easy life of MLS and being a father and a husband, and that's fine and his choice, but it made him a worse soccer player and he's no longer an asset in big matches
Bravo.
Excellent summary of that sequence, which was a pretty decent representation of Bradley's game these days.
And spot on about his career.

Pulisic did not play well, but still played better than anyone else on our offense beside zardes.
I'm not upset about the loss. It's just the way we lost. Just a really weak effort.

But he's no longer a top tier American Player.
What? He is probably the best player in the entire pool

But he shouldn't be the focus moving forward, at least not in the attacking midfield.
He's not an attacking midfielder..or frankly even box to box. He is a holding mid. Which means his job is to set up the game and do all the dirty work. Which he does.

he was a bottom tier player on the pitch tonight
On our team? Nah. In order of best to worst 1-14:
1: Zusi
2: Cameron
3: Fabs
4: Pulisic
5: Guzan
6: Bradley
7: Deuce
8: Nagbe
9: Brooks
10: Zardes
11: Yedlin
12: Birnbaum
13: Beckerman
14: Wondo

We lost as soon as Beckerman and Bradley paired up with the expectation that Bradley would link with the attack.
Jurgen lost the plot.
Though I did see Sheep defend the lineup early on which makes me second guess myself.

I'm convinced we watched different matches.

Go back and watch. He looked stupid on the first goal. I'll cut him some slack on the second one but you can't get beat on your side on a free kick. The Higuain save was decent but you have to clear the ball. Even Brad would say that. I know your a fan boy but he will even say he had a terrible night.

IMHO other than the US being completely outclassed, Beckerman looked particularly outclassed

I hope you all watched that replay to see birnbaum completely miss that easy pass.

He does not set up the game at all. Except for the opponent. He was great in WC2010. Since he moved to Toronto he's declined steadily.
And his work is dirty in so far as it certainly is the opposite of tidy.

he makes far too many dangerous passes these days to be called a good holding mid
that's his best role but he's taken so many steps back that he's just average for that role on a good team

I did. It was kinda perfect. Who is saving that?

No one said he didn't. But the decision by Bradley was fricking stupid. He wasn't getting pressed. He had time and actually had a player completely alone down the right sideline. The pass wasn't bad, the decision was fricking horrible. You can't have that from him.

I'm sorry but I'm laughing my arse off with 5th Tiger defending Bradley. Thanks I need a good laugh.
